Nearly nine out of 10 journalists who made political donations gave to Democrats or left-wing groups, according to a bombshell new investigation into media bias - and perhaps the most shocking name on the list was the writer of "The Ethicist" column for The New York Times.
The probe by MSNBC investigative reporter Bill Dedman revealed the names of 144 employees - reporters, editors, producers - from media organizations nationwide who have lined the candidates' pockets since '04.
Underscoring the leftward tilt of the press, 125 of the workers, or 87 percent, ponied up only to Democrats and liberal causes, while just 17 chipped in only to Republicans. Two reporters gave to both parties.
Candidates are required to file with the Federal Election Commission the names of all donors and their employers, which provided MSNBC the starting point for its investigation.
The majority of political donors on the list work for mainstream daily newspapers and wire services.
Others come from ABC, CBS and NBC, as well as two donors from Fox News Channel and three from Fox affiliates around the country. Fox is the only one of the four networks that doesn't bar employees from making such contributions.
Codie Brooks, a researcher for Brit Hume's "Special Report" on Fox News, bundled $2,600 from friends and donated it to the Tennessee Senate campaign of Democrat Harold Ford Jr. A handful work in radio, including National Public Radio's Corey Flintoff, who gave $538 to Howard Dean's 2004 presidential campaign.
Timesman Randy Cohen, whose column "The Ethicist" is syndicated nationally, donated $585 to MoveOn.org in 2004 as the rabidly left-wing group was going full-throttle in its effort to oust President Bush, end the Iraq war and bounce a slate of other Republican candidates from office.

As Rush once said: "We [talk radio] are the equal time."
Time for the media fairness doctrine.
Tell me something I don't already know ;-).
What's this MSM crap?
If Bill Dedman is a conservative, the media will be all over this report using it to “prove” that conservatives are mean-spirited and go on witch hunts or something. If he is a liberal, they’ll find some other way to spin it (or bury it)
yeah. long overdue.
there ought to be a national registry of people employed in the newsmedia.
their degrees, political affiliations, credit records, criminal histories, etc.
I’m seriesly stuned.

I wonder what all the moonbatsw over at DFU have to say about this.
Well , maybe “wonder” is the wrong word. No doubt they’ll be saying it’s rightwing media trying to cover up their bias.
I have spoken with this “investigative reporter” and given him a great amount of info about Hillary’s campaign finance fraud. I’m still waiting for his report.
I can kind of give a pass on liberal donations from say, film critics and fashion editors, and so what if Atlantic Monthly’s editors donate to the left(its a liberal opinion magazine). But we saw that copy editors and news division people and reporters are donating to liberals. That is a scandal. They are free to do so, but they then can’t claim they are a “news” source. The fake TANG documents were just one example where they were caught red handed. How many other examples of planted, fake, anti-conservative stories aren’t so boldly exposed?
I hope you also gave him plastic surgery and a new identity, and found him a comfortable place to relocate. Otherwise, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for his "report". The guy might have a family. These are the scumbag Clintons we're talking about.
I have often wondered how many times over the decades - - pre-new media - - the networks and big city papers got away with fabricating "documents" and quotes and everything else in their zeal to defeat conservative Republicans.
Take your keyboard in to have it fixed; it’s stuck on caps. It’s not too expensive to replace it, either, if you want to go that route...
