As Mark Twain might say, reports of the Immigration Bill's death have been highly exaggerated.
The bill might have been killed for the second time, but today's Wall Street Journal reports that at least three key parts of it may still have life (one of which, the Dream Act, I've previously written about). Yes, it's like Freddy Kruger. The bill never completely dies. These, too, must be killed:
It ain't over 'til it's over.
no rest, at all!
I am longing for their summer break to begin.
You’re gonna shoot your EYE out!
This is a ping list promoting Immigration Enforcement and Congressional Reform.
If you wish to be added or removed from this ping list, please contact me.
Well, the 7th Inning Stretch is over, folks. Batter up!
At your service!
This kind of entitlement crap is exactly why I’m against the illegals being here. Now they want to take my tax dollars and give them to illegals and/or their families for education. Let their home country educate them. If they want to become Americans, follow the proper paths to citizenship.
They’re hoping for issue fatigue. They figure at some point we’ve got to get on with our lives and tehn they can sneak this baby through while we’re all too tired to care.
That’s why we hve to keep these America-haters from putting any of this piece of...legislation into law.
There must be something in their water, vodka, rum, whatever they're drinking
truly we have to do something as citizens to impress upon these idiots who act like feudal barons that we are sick and tired of this codependent behavior and throwing our money away.
BTTT
Nic is! just kiddin' dear
see, told ya!
thanks a rot! : )
Not me! I had my day (1/2 day?) of rest and am ready to let 'er rip again. They'll have to haul me off to a camp to get me to shut up. Oh wait, better not give them any ideas...
Just saw Poor Baby Jerkoff whining about how our current immigration laws are "unenforceable." What a rough life he leads...
Whatta Buncha Nixons, all saying: I AM NOT AN AMNESTY CROOK
A few of Richard Nixons famous last political words were: I AM NOT A CROOK.Okayyyyyy ..
And now, here is what is Not Amnesty. (Goebbels and Orwell would be proud):
They actually tried to force this upon us .NEVER FORGET.
Legal status for all criminal aliens, unless they failed a background check that had to be completed within 24 hours.
An invitation for 12+ million applications to be simultaneously filed, swamping the system
A system with disconnected and incomplete databases in the possession of several bureaucraciesand hindered by deliberate red tapeyet apparently somehow expected to provide a complete background check within 24 hours for millions of new forms, many presumably not filled out in English.
Riiiiiiiight.
[snip]
There's a tagline!
Then, how would they EVER enforce future ones?
Increasing the number and ease of getting a work visa for high tech workers seems like a good idea to me..
I’ve been trying to get a green card for one of my workers for 2 years now... in 18 months, she’ll have to go home... not to Mexico, to Malaysia. But, she’s no gardener.... she has a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from Purdue and she’s a damn good employee.
Just for the record, I’m also hiring a ChE from U. of Kentucky...... starting next week. US grads are NOT having trouble finding work... in fact, they have the HIGHEST avg starting salaries of all BS degree plans..... averaging $55k to start.
So... yea, Making this BS paperwork easier, and increasing the numbers makes a lot of sense to me.
The WSJ has been an advocate of unfettered immigration for as long as I can remember.
"First, I want to thank you for your courageous stand against the Senate Immigration bill that failed to sustain a cloture vote on Thursday. You and others from both the Republican and Democrat parties who voted 'NO' on cloture deserve our deepest gratitude.
"I would, however, caution that the game is not over. It appears likely that proponents of the original bills will be attempting to pass portions, such as 'The Dream Act', 'AgJobs Bill' and 'Tech-Worker Visas' as seperate bills in order to accomplish the whole. This is no more acceptible to the public than their original intent. These must be defeated in turn.
"Regarding 'The Dream Act', I'd like to address your attention to the website http://www.dreamact.info/forum/. It is an online forum made up mostly of Illegal Aliens who support this legislation. The intriguing thing about this website is that many write of fraudulently acquiring SS Cards, and identity theft.
"Frankly, I have little hope that since Michael Chertoff has shown the inability of DHS to use our existing Immigration laws to protect America, DHS will be less than useful against such people. However, I bring this to your attention with the hope that the Senate may shed proper light on these activities.
"Again thank you for your great work. I just wanted to let you know how much it is appreciated."
We can't let up at this stage. There' still too much at stake. The fight is still not over.
Looks like they are gluttons for punishment. This is getting plain ridiculous.
isn’t it, though?!
