On May 30, Ramirez was part of a serious car accident where he suffered multiple injuries and was put into a comatose state. He was placed onto feeding tubes where he received nourishment and water.
Ten days later, the mans wife, Rebecca, 33, asked doctors to pull him from the tubes after they explained that the accident would probably leave the man blind or in vegetative state.
For five days, the hospital withheld sustenance from the injured man, but restored the tubes after the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) an Ariz.-based Christian law firm filed a lawsuit on behalf of the rest of Ramirez family.
On Tuesday, a settlement was reached in which all decision-making for the patient will move from wife Rebecca to a court-appointed guardian. The man will also be moved to a rehabilitation center.

“Ohhhhh.. what are you doing? Were you pulling the plug on me!”
Yeah, she had his best interests at heart. Kill him and then go to the boyfriend.
Would they also have stopped feeding him if he was going to be a little deaf in the left ear? Although I suppose it is easier to starve a blind man because you can hide any food he might come across while walking down the hospital hallway.
I truly believe that this young man and his family have been the beneficiary of a divine intervention.
I don’t know about it being questionable, although of course that’s a possibility. But with so many people and the MSM always touting that that’s what most people would want (not being on life support, etc. etc.), I think a significant number of people get conned into thinking that they are doing the right thing when they make a decision like this. I’ve told my family that they are not to remove reasonable life support on me. If they do and I die, I will come back to haunt them. I just don’t trust the medical establishment.
“According to a report from Rebecca Ramirez, who was also in the Toyota SUV when it crashed, the accident was a result of a heated argument in the car between the husband and wife about a mans phone number on Rebeccas phone. It was reported that Jesse was suspicious of an affair.
After refusing to let the woman out of the car, she opened her door as if to jump, causing concern to Jesse which led to him to flip the car over and throw them both from the vehicle.”
So the wife wanted to pull the tubes.... gee I wonder why?????
Boy, THAT’S going to make family dinners a lot more awkward...
The court appointed putting down of Terri Shiavo by the man who may well ave out her in that state has set precedence which will last for decades. Thank God Ramirez regained consciousness....though even before reading the original I had a feeling they were going to have marital problems very shortly. Now it looks as though marital problems caused hom to have the accident to begin with.
...With his life insurance check from an accident she admits she caused.
Hmmm.... this could be bad, she’s probably already spent his life insurance money.... Try and explain that one.
If you knew you were the cause of the accident that put your spouse in that state, would you wait a mere week and a half before asking them to let him die of thirst? I doubt it.
My dad recently passed away, and for the last 6 months of his life, he was in and out of the hospital. As they moved him from room to room, someone would always come in with a clipboard asking him if he wanted to be removed from life support and when, and my dad’s mind was sharp until the day he died, and he’d look at them, and say, “No, I’d prefer they stay on— thank you.”
And then they would leave and we’d all get a laugh out of it. Although it wasn’t funny, it was just tasteless, and morbid. We probably had to sign that thing 50 times in 6 months.
That was fast on the trigger. Usually they don’t begin to consider pulling the plug for 6 weeks if the person isn’t declared brain dead.
Better here than anywhere else. The Alliance
Defense Fund is located here.
Left out of this story was an interesting remark from the Judge...
He ["Judge" Paul Katz] also admonished the families to get along for Jesse Ramirezs sake and questioned aloud whether any of them had his best interests at heart."
I wonder how the judge managed to torture his mind into such a non-judgemental position? Let's see...the spouse was fighting with him at the time of the crash, and demanded food cut-off almost immediately. His family intervenes to save his life, and the "judge" can't figure out who has the patient's best interests in mind?
I know this Judge because I've been before him. He is a total asshat. He think "everybody should just get along," and that he can make it so by simply ordering it.
I found the link to the online story: Here
Even the French, with their socialized medicine hospitals, don’t usually pull the plug on you for at least 30 days;-)
What?
First of all, she was not in a vegetative state and I wish people would quit spouting off this lie. Second, does the length of her condition make it okay to withhold basic care such as food and water (the word however at the end seems to be a justification). Third, she died of complications due to dehydration. Fourth, this is from a Christian source? Like the abortion issue, this has to be surrounded by so many lies to make it palatable to the masses.
