The legal assumption that the spouse has the injured person's best interests at heart is questionable.

I don’t know about it being questionable, although of course that’s a possibility. But with so many people and the MSM always touting that that’s what most people would want (not being on life support, etc. etc.), I think a significant number of people get conned into thinking that they are doing the right thing when they make a decision like this. I’ve told my family that they are not to remove reasonable life support on me. If they do and I die, I will come back to haunt them. I just don’t trust the medical establishment.

This was in the print edition of my local paper here in AZ...this happened a few miles from where I live.

Left out of this story was an interesting remark from the Judge...

He ["Judge" Paul Katz] also admonished the families to get along for Jesse Ramirez’s sake and questioned aloud whether any of them had his best interests at heart."

I wonder how the judge managed to torture his mind into such a non-judgemental position? Let's see...the spouse was fighting with him at the time of the crash, and demanded food cut-off almost immediately. His family intervenes to save his life, and the "judge" can't figure out who has the patient's best interests in mind?

I know this Judge because I've been before him. He is a total asshat. He think "everybody should just get along," and that he can make it so by simply ordering it.

I found the link to the online story: Here

No it's not. Although there may be exceptions from time to time. I swear, if it's looking like one has to hired armed guards to be around to keep the 'helpful' ghouls from interfering in family affairs.

When it's my time to go, it's my time to go. And that decision will be left to my wife. No one else, not a court, and definitely not a 'helpful' ghoul trying to prove some life deal.
