Elected Republicans are now openly complaining that they are receiving "threats" because of their support for the illegal alien amnesty bill. I guess they now know what it's like to walk around a Los Angeles park after dark.
Immigration Bill Prompts Some Menacing ResponsesWASHINGTON, June 27 The threat came in the weekend mail.
The recipient was Senator Mel Martinez, Republican of Florida, who has been a leading advocate of the proposed legislation for changing the immigration system. His offices in Washington and across Florida have received thousands of angry messages in recent weeks, but nothing as alarming as that letter he received at his home.

The word is HUGH. Get it right, for cryin’s sake. ;>)
The Amnesty bill THREATENS US!
“Do these fools think they can do whatever they want without facing the consequences?”
Yes they do.
Oklahomans are blessed with good representation on this issue, but I’d have most certainly threatened to vote them out of office if that weren’t the case.
He probably got the threat from a dem war room. These guys are known for fake letters. I’ll bet it’s one of the reasons our people think the base is racists. Dems present us as “crazy” and they present our leaders are hating us. Dems have been doing the fake letters, fake calls to talk radio, and fake letters to the editors for years.
Not only vane, but hugh, and series.
I don’t consider that a threat but a statement of fact. Martinez releasing this the day of the vote makes me wonder. I want to yell at him and others to grow up and do the job you are sent to do which is protect US Citizens not to pander to illegals.
He received *A* threatening letter? One?
Considering Mel’s stance and attitude, I’m really surprised he hasn’t received bundles of threatening letters.
I’d like to see 1/2 million people gathered in front of the Capitol building armed with tar & feathers. IMO, it is our Constitutional right to rebel when the congress ignores the will of 80% of the population.
Tell these little Dictators that it’s not a threat, but a promise. You won’t be re-elected; start packing early. America doesn’t need or intend to elect arrogant Dictators.
Here’s the threat they fear the most: In the next election I will vote for ANYONE BUT you.
The ramifications of this clear disregard for the electorate will have widespread ramifications. A third party (non spoiler aka Perot) would be welcome right now.
Look, it’s probably a fake letter from a dem war room. They love fake calls to Rush, fake letters to our guys, anything to stir the pot. They’re probably right here with us now, ginning up problems.
Oops!
Mariyah Montesorry taut mee too rite.
:)
I am sure the “threat” is people calling an saying they will not support them in their re-election bid or withhold money support.
That is a threat worse than death to these weasels
That's the whole point to the story in the first place. By claiming they're being "threatened", they have cover when they ignore the complaints from these crazies....
Oh damn, that's just too bad.
When people start threatening you that means that A) you've really pissed them off and B) they have lost faith with the ability to work within the 'system'.
I am hearing from my staffer friends that the Bush people are making threats and passing out goodies like they have never seen in decades.
“...remind them of WHO they are supposed to represent...”
We have de facto taxation without representation in this country.
The rest are coming UPS Ground and Consolidated Freight.
Those take longer.
