The Honor of Ron Paul by Joe Sobran

"He may have become at last what he has always deserved to be: the most respected member of the U.S. Congress. He is also the only Republican candidate for president who is truly what all the others pretend to be, namely, a conservative. His career shows that a patriotic, pacific conservatism isn’t a paradox."

This just about sums up Ron Paul....most honorable man in government today. I only posted an excerpt because I wanted to follow copyright rules. But hopefully you can follow the link to read the rest of the article.

Sobran had some decent commentary 10 years ago, he has since bumped his head or taken too many mind altering drugs.

I’ll give Ron Paul credit for one thing, his amazing ability to get these nuts all worked up on his behalf despite the fact that he’s a zero-accomplishment imbecile.

So are you saying that Ron Paul is not a conservative?

Going along with unconstitutional schemes of the Beltway Boys is not an “accomplishment.”

By the way, where does this “only true conservative in the race” differ with the people at The Daily Kos?

“So are you saying that Ron Paul is not a conservative?”

Yup, that about sums it up.

Okay, I’ll play along.
What “unconstitutional scheme” exactly?

Pacific conservatism? As opposed to Atlantic conservatism?

Paul/Kucinich ‘08!

Especially after last week when Paul and his partner Kucinich were the only Congresspeople to vote against condemning Ahmadinejad for inciting genocide.

Ron ain’t a conservative. He’s a specie of classical liberal. He’s like John Adams, who talked non-intervention and wanted to pay the jizya (along with other European powers). It took a better man than him (Jefferson) to build a Navy and take it to the islamofascists. Shores of Tripoli and all that, eh? While I agree that we do too much for other countries, one must help one’s friends in this world, if you want them to help you. Ron’s domestic agenda and I agree. His foreign policy is hopelessly naive.

Ron Paul is not a conservative; he’s a libertarian. They are not the same thing.

What if Ron Paul runs for president on, say, the Constitution Party ticket? Who knows?

No he doesn’t, but thanks for perpetuating that oft refuted lie.
