She is going to be under oath this year along with a bunch of her pals. This is a civil trial. There will be someone grilling her who is not like the meek Ken Starr. Hillary is going to be confronted with her lies, coverups, and felonies.

George Will said that? (against the Republican field anyone is electable).

Maybe George, being a baseball expert, will predict that the Texas Rangers will rise from the bottom and win the world series.

I would say that against Hillary, any Republican is electable.

Not here in Oregon, there are still plenty of small farms. Your painting of farmers like GM makes it sound like there are investors lined up to buy them just as soon as they go bankrupt.

After you throw on your restrictions with your Central Planning nobody will go near that business and it will either go fallow or move to S America where labor is still cheap. Then where do we get our food??

I won’t call you a retard like you called me.

I like your approach to the issue, but you sure didn't do yourself any favors by that intro above.

Sorry for over-reacting. It's just the same issues are spelled out & explained over & over again.

The bottom line is this: follow the money. Right now, there's money to be made by businesses shifting costs to US, and money to be made by state/city/local authorities by having US foot the tax bill.

Change the calculus so that it's MORE expensive for businesses to hire illegals, and MORE expensive for state/city/local authorities to protect illegals. The way you do that is via citizen power - either via the ballot box and/or (civil) judicial system.

Remember the attorney advising companies how to bypass hiring citizens? If there were money to be made penalizing those who use illegals, they'd be offering seminars on THAT topic tomorrow.

It's all about $. Reward those who pursue/prosecute illegal offenders, and the US economy would turn to supporting those activities.

Yes, and what’s the obvious thing they would immediately do, indeed, the very thing they have done countless times {successfully} in the past?

I don't think you can get through to someone (bray) who does not want to hear stats or take part in common sense. You just fire too much logic his way, it does not jive with his agenda.

I was just thinking that there should be a special category of ribbon presented to whoever responds and get into a never-ending, never-changing, discussion with this person each week during this thread, but that might encourage this behavior, so forget I suggested it.

That is exactly my point. What is that something??

We have a labor force already here that is working yet because of politics we have to replace it?? It makes no sense when all we have to do is document the good from the bad and deport the bad.

Don’t you ever change your tune. You can’t compare today’s immigration, legal and illegal, with that of the Irish or any other group. The scope and magnitude today are unprecedented. The number of foreign born residents in America today, 36 million, exceeds the current population of Canada. Since 1970, more than 36 million legal and illegal immigrants have settled in the U.S., representing more than one-third of all people ever to come to America’s shores.

You’ll have to tell me the obvious thing, but I know they would do something!

It’s called American ingenuity.

Of recent times the British royal family are reported to be left wing and some of their causes they pursue global warming and other ecology issues I would say confirms this.

Therefore I would think that Tony Blair was looked upon fairly favourably as will be Gordon Brown. We all know that Maggie Thatcher and the Queen did not get on.

One incident that is often forgotten and was the ultimate snub from Maggie was after the Falklands she took the salute from the victorious troops not the Queen in fact the Queen was not even invited to the parade. This is unheard of from a British PM as they are not the commander in Chief of any regiment. The department of defence administers them at the direction of the government but their commander in chiefs are members of the Royal family. This is of course a purely ceremonial role but nevertheless this is the protocol.

Stop with the Marxiat conservative brothers stuff, ok?

It’s obvious we all disagree, but we don’t need to get personal. That applies to everyone here.

Bray, I am opposed to illegal immigration, because it makes dopes out of those who are willing to go through the correct proccess of legal immigration.

I am not opposed to a well regulated guest worker program with oversight provided to ensure guest workers don’t compete directly with real Americans looking for work and the industry pays a prevailing wage, taxes, and social benefits they’d normally pay for any worker.

We have a lot of middle ground before we make each other “enemy camps”.

No. The number I reported was actually those young folks who are looking for work, not the ones not willing to work. Same for the other classes of workers I mentioned.

It’s called RAISING PRICES!!! it works every time for products with relatively inelastic demands.

And by way of preemption: Get ready for the, “Are you ready to pay $127.49 for a head of lettuce?" ruse from bray {or his coyote puppet masters}.

Utter nonsense. President gives several speeches every week. HOW much coverage have you ever heard in the "News" about any of them?

But I know, "dogma uber alles" your 1970s era Political Science classes taught you this "bully Pulpit" dogma and you cannot be bother to consider the real facts as they exist in the modern media world of 2007.

Just how does the President's "bully Pulpit work"?

That right, the "Journalists" have to cover what he is saying. His ONLY conduit to the people is thru a obviously politically corrupt "News media" machine.

So what have the "Journalists" done with Bush?

Well for the most part they simply do NOT cover anything the President says. When they DO cover it they don't publish the actually statements they restate the speech and focus in on 1 or 2 sentences or maybe a 15 to 30 second clip. Then, instead of allowing the Presidents words to stand, they immediately give MORE coverage to anyone who is critical of the President speech. After about 12 hours or so, the Critics are the ones getting all the coverage.

So, Conservatives knew this was a hostile environment so they developed their own Alternative media mainly via Talk Radio.

Only problem is Talk Radio got too successful. NOW the egos of the host, not their political doctrine, get all the air time. Now it all about what the Host personally feels on every issue. Forget any sort of Conservative message getting out via Talk Radio since their titanic egos in the Business only want to talk about their personal emotional whimsy.

So instead of HELPING the President by attacking the Left, MOST of the Right sit on their butt whining "why did Bush do that, Why didn't Bush do this" "whaaa I am made because I don't only get 100% of only what I want out of politics" all the while mindlessly regurgitating the nonsense PR lines and slogans spewed forth by the Drive By Media.

How about the Political Right quit being the mindless echo chamber of the Leftist noise machine? How about they finally discover the balls to FIGHT the Left instead of spending all their time sniping their own allies in the back for not being dogmatically pure enough?

But I know, I know, wasting my time. Utterly impossible for the dogmatic Bush Haters on the Buchannanite Right around here to EVER consider any factual reality that doesn't just mindlessly validate their knee jerk dislike for the President simply because his last name happens to be "Bush"..

I think it will be decades before we know the truth (and we may never know it all) about to what extent the Clintons sold out this country for personal power and gain. Another 4-8 years of the Clintons is a horrifying thought.
