CA: Five arrested at Los Angeles immigration rally ('illegal assembly' when permit expired)
AP on Bakersfield Californian ^ | 6/23/07 | AP

Five people were arrested at a Los Angeles park on Saturday as police dispersed anti-immigration demonstrators and counter-protestors, authorities said.

Among those arrested for failure to obey was activist Ted Hayes, who organized the anti-immigration rally at MacArthur Park, said Officer April Harding.

Hayes got a permit for a daylong rally of Minutemen activists and a smaller group of protesters demanding reparations for slavery. They were met by a crowd of about 300 pro-immigrant marchers carrying signs and vowing to prevent the others from marching into the park.

A call to the Minutemen was not immediately returned.

Police handled the situation carefully, mindful of the May Day clash in which officers used rubber bullets and batons to clear immigration reform demonstrations, Harding said. Officers, some in riot gear, some in shorts and on bicycles, kept the two sides apart.

"There was a lot of shouting, a lot of trash talking, but no violence," Harding said.

When the rally's permit expired on Saturday afternoon, police officials declared the anti-immigrant protesting an illegal assembly. Five people including Hayes refused to disperse and were arrested.

<> Sure they do. They get free medical care (no insurance needed), subsidized housing, food stamps, WIC, free education, free legal representation - and since they live in this country for free (on our tax dollars), they can send every penny they get under the table (tax free) back home to mamacita and the familia. Rights? Sure - but they are shutting down our hospitals and emergency rooms every month. Many are driving drunk and killing more citizens than the WOT. They bring over 90% of the meth into our country, not to mention marijuana and heroine. Many are molesting our children, threatening our families. The open borders allow illegals to spit on our very existance. And, we can't even hold our flag proudly (with a permit) without getting arrested? Disgusting!

A million criminal mexicans march and the cops are mute. A handful of patriots march, and the cops get badge heavy. Welcome to LA.

Our grinning little twerp Mexican mayor needs to have his e-mail box filled up with complaints from CITIZENS.

Maybe Chief of Police Bratton should stop pandering to the illegals too. Reach him at:

Ted and sveral others agreed to be peaceably arrested to quell the disorder. Remember, the City of L A is run by a La Raza gangster,

Actually, he's a MEcHISTA gangster who has never actually renounced the views he held while being a major player in that organization... but the press simply continues to give him a pass.

As I said on the other thread, what kind of permit do the illegal pull that allows them to shut down major cities all across the country?

This is how neo-Marxists (like Mayor VillaReconquista) can cancel the First Amd. right to freedom of assembly.

Just tip off your neo-Marxist allies when patriots are going to assemble. The neo-Marxists arrive for a counter demo, and get violent. Instead of being arrested by police, the police cancel the lawful permit of the patriots, in the name of "public safety," and arrest the patriots.

Right out of the Hugo Chavez playbook.

"Mayor MEChA:"

Read about how a pro-communist, ultra radical "MEChista" named Tony Villar cut his hair, changed his name, put on a tie, and became the mayor of America's second largest city.

Chief Bratton has folded to the Mexican Mayor.

In the last confrontation in a park a month or so ago, he was criticized by the illegal alien supporters, and the mayor didn't even back up his own police chief against allegations that the illegals were being herded out.

Soon afterwards Bratton was awarded another contract.

“Hayes got a permit for a daylong rally of Minutemen activists and small group of protesters demanding reparations for slavery.”

The media is focusing on the “reparations for slavery” part of the protest led by Hayes. In fact, Ted’s group of protesters were also protesting the abuse of The Fourteenth Amendment by illegals, the government, and politicians.

Hayes and others had a permit {Amendment I) however the media is not mentioning whether the pro-immigrant marchers obtained a permit.

No one bothered looking for the instigators of the Mac Arthur incident. In the days following the incident, the mayor of L.A. was in public pandering to pro-immigrant [Illegal]supporters.

This is not the first time the Dem. politicians/leadership of CA. have supported the breaking of the law. Believe during the first march that was held in CA...Some of the Dem. leaders from Sacramento left their offices to participate in the protest.

The time is long overdue to vote those out of office who exhibit a blatant disregard for the rule of law.

The time is long overdue for those that publicly support such illegal activities whether it is the politicians, the media, or the activists that support such breaking of the law to be publicly condemned.

The time is long overdue to take our country back.

Ted is a great guy, but the Mayor isn’t. Villagrosa, or as I like to call him “Villain-I-gross-you probably told Chief Bratton to watch the clock, and one minute over the permit arrest people.

Get out the popcorn!

Today he would be wearing a Che t-shirt that is all the vogue here in Los Angeles. I’m sure that Tony has one in his closet. Heck, he probably has a poster in his house.
