I think you’re referring to Tancredo. Paul served in the Air Force.

Wrong. Children born overseas to servicemen are eligible.

It will happen if we bring enough attention to it. Many people have no idea that anchor babies from aliens are citizens. It’s quite unbelievable actually.

How would you do that? You would need to look at every baby birth certificate and then match with a parent and prove that it was real and even belonged to the parent. WHATAMESS!

The anchor baby rule kills me, and hospitals know how to work the system beautifully. A pregnant illegal shows up at the hospital in labor. The hospital CAN NOT deny this woman treatment, and the hospital stands to lose lots of money, because this lady has no chance in hell of paying.

They get her baby delivered and have social workers on staff to get the lady signed up for Medicaid, which will cover the entire thing since both the woman and baby are now LEGAL citizens of the United States. My wife is a registered nurse in the OB department at our local hospital, and she says it happens all the time.

We are a small community. If it tells you anything, 45% of all babies born at our hospital last year were of Latinos. 85% of that 45% were on Medicaid. Who knows what percentage of those were in the exact situation I mentioned above.

We have seen nothing but the worst end of the decisions and neglect from DC in the last 15 years or so. We have empty, shut down factories just about everywhere you look and double digit unemployment because of our trade policies, we are beginning to see MS13 graffiti on buildings, and when I go out shopping I often wonder what country I’m in anymore. There are many stores here that have signs that don’t read any English, and there are as many places that are in business to wire money to Latin America as there are banks. I grew up here, and it isn’t the same as it was just 15 years ago. It’s very sad to see, and I am NOT exaggerating this situation in the least. I really could say more.

Precisely, March 26, 1790. There has never been a question of the legality of this one. Now, for a sticky legal question: Are children born abroad but adopted by American parents eligible? Now that’s truly a legal can of worms.

And yet during the early 1970’s when I was stationed overseas, children born to American parents were in the situation I just described...

You are wrong. I understand why you are taking that position, I respect what you are trying to accomplish but if they’re not under your jurisdiction, you can’t arrest them, you cannot bring them to trial. If you can arrest them and can try them they are under your jurisdiction

If they are under your jurisdiction, then they can be drafted into the military and/or be compelled to serve jury duty. Can a foreign national/illegal alien be drafted?, serve on a jury?

From the selective service website.

Who must register? (See website for complete chart)

Permanent resident aliens

Special (seasonal) agricultural workers (I-688)

Refugee, parolee, and asylee aliens

Undocumented (illegal) aliens

Dual national U.S. citizens

http://www.sss.gov/MUST.HTM

I hope you find this illuminating. Thank you for reminding me of additional evidence that illegal aliens are nevertheless under the jurisdiction of the United States.

As an additional followup on your question, aliens(illegal or not) are not considered “peers” (as in jury of your peers) and hence are not liable for jury duty. But they still are liable for the draft.

Oh how the Liberals howl on the few occasions that a few Illegals trying to cross the border are forced to turn back into Mexico. Can’t you just hear the outrage if a pregnant gal is forced to turn back and have her baby on the south side of the Rio Grande Oh the outrage of it! I can hear it now, “That baby by all rights should be an American citizen. It wasn’t the poor mother’s fault that those mean Border Patrol agents wouldn’t let her enter.” (And shame on any BP agents who actually pick them up at the border and take the anchor droppers to the hospital.)

"Can a foreign national/illegal alien be drafted?, serve on a jury?"

I don't want a foreign national or illegal alien on a jury judging me. They all have alien "thought processes" about law and justice.
