NEW ORLEANS, June 21, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Nurses Cheri Landry and Lori Budo, who have admitted to administering lethal doses of medication to patients during the hurricane Katrina disaster, are being offered immunity from prosecution by the Louisiana Attorney General.
CNN reports that in two weeks the two will testify before a Grand Jury that four patients died after being administered what Louisiana's Attorney General, Charles Foti Jr., called a "lethal cocktail" of drugs.
In the immediate aftermath of the hurricane that devastated New Orleans in late August 2005, rumours began to fly around the internet world that patients were being killed by health care workers who wanted to flee the appalling conditions in the inner city New Orleans' Memorial Medical Center. Later, two doctors admitted that patients were euthanized, one doctor saying that he had fled the hospital rather than directly participate in killing patients.
The following July, one doctor and the two nurses were arrested and charged with four counts of second-degree murder for lethally injecting patients. Dr. Anna Pou, a head and neck surgeon who specializes in working with cancer patients, denied the charges insisting that she did not support euthanasia and claimed to have given only comfort care for the patients.
Court documents, however, assert that witnesses have testified that Dr. Pou and the two nurses took syringes full of drugs to a ward for the chronically-ill and injected four patients. 34 dead patients were found in Memorial following the Katrina disaster.
Foti told media, "We spent almost 10 ½ months investigating and, after all of this, can only come to the conclusion that this crime had been committed."

Well, He would be Anyone, not anyone.
All firing into the airliner would have done was alter the impact point. You could easily have it strike several buildings instead, and create even greater loss.I'm not going to detail any of several rather obvious ways to have increased the body count(please,no one else give the murderers any ideas).ONLY if you could be sure of near total destruction by massive explosion AND over water or Central Park could you mitigate the damage.30,000 gallons of burning kerosene isn't instantly gone. Some people watch too much TV and believe special effects are real.
Anyone and Everyone.
What happens in the Chocolate City, stays in the Chocolate City.
Back in the pre-Clinton era, those fighter jets launched from the now nearly abandoned alert sites would not have been relying on bullets for anything more than an attention-getter. Had the fighter gotten the aircraft in the clear, much of the passenger craft would have been destroyed right away. Remember the Iranian jetliner we accidentally hit?
This reminds me of an excercise we’ve all seen variations on. You’re in a nuclear bomb shelter. We’ve just been hit. You have enough supplies for six people. You have seven people in the shelter. (They go on to describe each of the seven people.) Who do you kick out?
The remainder of the class time is spent debating who should be kicked out. Nobody takes into consideration that you can’t kick anyone out, without opening the door, and killing everyone.
I noticed you didn't answer the abortion question;usually those who approve of killing for convenience don't care at what stage of life their victim has reached.
It wasn't sad,it was stupid to order people to stay in an enviroment guarenteed to become more dangerous every minute.People died because certain persons had to exercise authority;I believe I would have kept going OUT.
Was that over a highly populated area? I’m surpised you didn’t mention the Korean Airliner, flight 007, that the Soviets shot down over the Pacific.
Your dizzying logic defies all rationality. You wouldn’t happen to be a Sicilian?
“Troubling for sure but Id like to know all of the circumstances, like how long after the hurricane hit did the alleged murders take place, what was the situation around the hospital at the time, what did the media make the staff think was the situation ... I can think of a few narrow cases where what happened could have been the best care possible.”
If you have the patience to read it all, here is an archive of a good five part series on the subject that ran in our local paper(The Times Picayune) last year. It will give you a little more insight into the situation. Go to heading, For Dear Life.

Then they should go to prison. Did they think they wouldn’t have suffering, dying patients to deal with when they went into medicine? They murdered people who might have survived.
P-40 should do a search on Peter Singer. They share a lot of their ideology. However now that Singer’s mother has developed Alzheimer’s he hasn’t “made her comfortable.”
P-40 talks a good game but could he cut his own mother’s throat if she were suffering?
That is a really stupid thing to say. Were you really in the USAF? In what capacity?
Such exercises in ethics or logic are ,in reality, tools designed to destroy compassion and Western Civilization. They most often invoke false dilemas and assume worst cases.Supplies for six persons for a fixed period coulkd be stretched for a seventh with only slight increase in radiation risk because the half-life decay curve isn't going to be that much different. And a human body in storage? What ,you have refrigeration?Oh,a hermetically sealed container?Amazing!Otherwise the decaying body will cause illness of the physical as well as pschological variety.Of course ,by "offing" one of your group the rest have become amoral killers, unable to trust each other. Not a good survival situation.
At what time during the flight did the actual hijacking take place?
At what time did the passengers realize this was not a “hostages for ransom” situation but instead was a suicide attack?
When did the authorities realize the hijackers intended to fly the plane into the building?
When the authorities finally realized the hijackers intended to fly the into the building was it over water or over a populated area?
How long AFTER the first plane hit did the authorities realize it was not an accident but done intentionally?
What are the winning Lotto numbers for next week?
When exactly did you know this was going to happen? Why didn’t you try to prevent it?
So it’s ok to murder sick people who live in a third world country?
