GRIM: Is there anything that you and your Marines need that we could send you?
COL. SIMCOCK: (Chuckles.) Ill tell you what, the one thing that all Marines want to know about and that includes me and everyone within Regimental Combat Team 6 we want to know that the American public are behind us. We believe that the actions that were taking over here are very, very important to America. Were fighting a group of people that, if they could, would take away the freedoms that America enjoys.
If anyone you know, just sit down, jot us throw us an e- mail, write us a letter, let us know that the American public are behind us. Because we watch the news just like everyone else. Its broadcast over here in our chow halls and the weight rooms, and we watch that stuff, and were a little bit concerned sometimes that America really doesnt know whats going on over here, and we get sometimes concerns that the American public isnt behind us and doesnt see the importance of whats going on. So thats something I think that all Marines, soldiers and sailors would like to hear from back home, that in fact, yes, they think what were doing over here is important and they are in fact behind us.
Thanks to the Blackfive teams efforts so far, 1,700 e-mails have come in.
Help them out. There are 6,000 members of RCT-6. Send your e-mail of support to:

Here is one way that you can help.
They would love to hear from YOU :-)
Michelle Malkin is reprinting selected examples of letters to the troops....please check her site to see them.
PING!
Ping :-)
Just the kind of thread I’d ping to Tonk in a heartbeat to get the word spread far and wide. Please ping this out as a memorial ping, I’m sure Tonk would approve.
This is email:
I saw Michelle Malkins post about emailing the Marines with words of support.
This American supports the Marines and the US Military 100% unconditionally.
About me: 32 y/o male. Born in Chicago.
The United States is in the fight of its life fighting the same vermin that was the reason for the Marines being created in the first place! I write to my Senators, Durbin and Messiah all the time denouncing them for their seditious activity and my Congressional representative castigating his being a tool for Al Qaida. I try to inform everyone around me of the Jihad being waged against us so that they understand the reasons were fighting even if our President wont explain a damn thing.
From the bottom of my heart thank you for all the sacrifices I know what youre up against and you guys are the best , most honorable people on this stinking Planet! Thank you.
Just sent my email. This rocks!
Thanks for posting this. My mail is on its way.
Subject: Get Some
You can't imagine how excited we are back home to see this week's massive operations.
We want Al Qaida dead. Along with the insurgents who have been planting IEDs dead and the enemy snipers. We want the human wretches who blow up themselves and everyone nearby dead (before they can set off their bombs of course).
You are the ones making it happen.
Ignore the a-holes in Washington. They haven't a clue what the American people want. Yes, the polls show we want you home. I imagine you'd rather be here than in combat too. But there are plenty of other polls that show we want you home as victors.
From the milblogs I've read you are killing at about twenty of them for every soldier/Marine we lose. With the tribes now turning against them, Al Qaida is the one who is bogged down in an unwinnable war in Iraq. They've gone "all in" and now you've got them surrounded. Please kill every one of them you possibly can. Those that escape will kill Americans somewhere else. Probably in New York City, where my daughter lives. And if enough of them die at some point those young men will start asking the AQ recruiters: "If martyrdom is so great how come you've never tried it?"
On behalf of a grateful nation: Thank You For Your Service.
You are in our prayers, always.
Posted here too, just so you know....

And I will ping my friends - in memory of Tonk.
BTTT
We’re keeping up with the support , veterans remember the power of mail from friends, family and other patriots who respect those who go in harms way !

The power of letting a troop know your aware of their efforts is the individual, not a club, not a group, not a self promoting organization.
The individual American can make ALL the difference in the world. I am now sending packages and mail to the same elementary school kids that supported me during Desert Shield /Storm and many other conflicts during my military career.
Those elementary school kids who sent me mail each week are now some of the service men and women in this war on terror.......their turn in the barrel and my turn to return the favors !
