Environmentalism has quite a few followers and those followers have quite a bit of power. With that power, they are able to suggest and enact programs and legislation they feel is best for the world. So I have to wonder: How can such a large number of well meaning citizens get something so wrong, so often?

Looking back, you see a list of actions and trail of tragic, unintended consequences.

This is the theme of most of Michael Chrichton’s books. One of the most stunning things he pointed out, when people talk about “virgin” forests remember, before these forests were born men lived there.

Notice that the Rachel Carson apologist claims that she died of breast cancer caused by DDT exposure.

Do these kooks really believe this stuff? I think not. I’m sure that they know that this is pure bunko and they have put their hearts and souls into the struggle in order to destroy free-market capitalism. No unintended consequences here. Just collateral damage.

Everyone should see a documentary called Mine Your Own Business, produced by the Motion Picture Institute. It’s a stinging indictment of environementalism that exposes the Greens as the bigots and racists they really are.

I don’t believe that many of them are even particularly well meaning; They are arrogant twerps that think they know better how to run the planet than God OR Gaia.

Good call. I had not heard of that movie. I’ll be looking for it now. Thanks.

These same people gave us riding helmets, seat belt laws, smoking laws, OSHA and many other governmental controls, taxes and fines.

They also have helped us to shut down development of our own resources of gas, oil, and coal, thereby PROMOTING American dollars going to fund terrorists in Middle Eastern countries.

Another great example of unintended consequences. Injuries on bikes are up since the bike helmet was introduced. Gives kids a sense of invulnerability. Brilliant.

Excellent article! Environmentalism is at best a once good-idea that has been disfigured into bigotry and at worst a tool to forcefully bend capitalism into communism.

Despite an earlier federal law exempting border fences,

the NEW immigration bill is alegedly going to prevent the fence by such environmental hurdles.

That is because they ARE getting it right.

The goal of the environmental movement has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ENVIRONMENT.

The goal of the environmental movement is to abolish personal property rights and create de facto communism where the state decides all.

Did you know there has never been a “law of unintended consequence”? It’s a phrase without a reality.
