Fox, CBS Ban Pig 'Condom' Ad
The Fox and CBS networks have both declined to air an ad for Trojan condoms that features cellphone-carrying pigs on the prowl.
The ad depicts women in a bar surrounded by cellphone-toting pigs. One of the swine heads off to the mens room where it obtains a condom from a vending machine and "is transformed into a head-turner in his 20s, The New York Times reports. "When he returns to the bar, a fetching blonde who had been indifferent now smiles at him invitingly.
The commercial is part of a new ad campaign by Trojan called "evolve. The message: "Evolve. Use a condom every time.
In rejecting the ad, Fox sent a written response to Trojan that read: "Contraceptive advertising must stress health-related uses rather than the prevention of pregnancy.
CBS wrote that it did not find the ad "appropriate for our network even with late-night-only restrictions.
The commercial will air on ABC, NBC, and nine cable networks, as well as in magazines and on Web sites.

There's nothing like creativity in advertising.
And this is NOTHING like creativity in advertising!

“”Contraceptive advertising must stress health-related uses rather than the prevention of pregnancy.”
WHAT HEALTH-RELATED benefits? Aren’t condom usage STDs up 4 fold in the last stats?

Offensive on so many levels! Quite an achievement.
Sometimes I think these things are created so that networks can "take the high road" and refuse to air them, then thump themselves on the chest.

The Fox and CBS networks have both declined to air an ad for Trojan condoms that features cellphone-carrying pigs on the prowl. Why would Rosie O'Donnell need a condom?

It's kind of sad to say it, but having this ad publicly banned, and then likely showing up on-line is actually pretty good advertising with much of their target market.
The networks take the high road and refuse to air the ad. The controversy then causes people to hear about the ad that otherwise would not have.

So the message is men are pigs til they want sex and come prepared. Great. Just great.
And I must say I am proud of Fox (surprise but pleased with cbs), although condoms do NOT prevent herpes, HPV and not always the other bacterial stds either.
To promote “safe sex” is a lie. SafER maybe...but hardly safe.

I was waiting for the girl to turn into a pig for being the obvious whore she is. Going to a bar to pick up men isn’t exactly “ladylike”.

There's some measure of reassurance in knowning that at least Fox and CBS have retained some sense of decorum.

CBS-Viacom thinks this is inappropriate?
This is the same media empire that airs MTV 24/7 and deliberately broadcast a mutilated nipple as the closed of the Superbowl Half Time Show.

Don’t worry, the states will all mandate that women take the HPV vaccine (although men can get cancer from HPV too).

It takes a slut to feed a “pig”.
I presume the females are depicted with their legs and mouth permanently spread, wide open, like a blow up doll till the "magic" condom appears.
