Yes, One Senator is demanding apology from Harry Reid. That 's Joe Liberman.

I don't know what Harry Reid is up to. I was very upset, even offended, by what he said about General Pace and General Petraeus. Look, you call General Pace incompetent? That's abs - this is a man who has devoted his entire life to the Marine corps, the service of our country, defense of our country.

Q. Why is he doing this? Why is Reid doing this?

LIEBERMAN: I have no idea. Then to say that Petraeus is out of touch? I mean, Harry Reid in Washington says David Petraeus, who's in Baghdad, away from his family, heroically trying to rally our forces and succeed over in Iraq... that he's out of touch? I mean, it's just - the danger here - my colleagues who have been opposed to the war have said "we're opposed to the war, but we support our troops." But when you start to attack the top two generals, you know, that's... that's wrong. I hope he apologizes, I just hope he misstated...

Why did Hamas have to take over if they had already won an election??

They were a majority in Parliament but they did not have control of the Internal Security Force, with all its weapons, etc. Abbas would not give them control and this was a MAJOR sticking point.

"Funny how Hersh, who makes one completely off the wall accusation after another is still treated as “Credible” by our mythically “objective” news media."

Hersh "exposed" the My Lai massacre 4 decades ago. This has made him the perpetual hero of the left. He can do no wrong, ever.

Funny how Hersh, who makes one completely off the wall accusation after another is still treated as “Credible” by our mythically “objective” news media. Funny how his accusations are never ever actually verified by any facts.

FACTS are SO last century, Johnnie. The only people who make a fuss about FACTS have been brain-washed by a totally passe ol' fuddy-duddio education. Not done anymore, ol' chap.

Talk about over dramatic. With full employment which is what 4.5% represents, where you going to get the labor after you deport 12 million workers??

Deport? You must mean repatriate. If we crack down on the employers and secure our borders the numbers will decrease. And with a little benign neglect, they will die out.

The overall unemployment rate may be 4.5% in May, but when you breakdown the figures, the unemployment rate for blacks is 8.5%, Hispanics/Latino--5.8%, and teenagers--15.7%. Whites have an unemployment rate of 3.9%. And when the unemployment rate goes up, as it surely will given the cyclical nature of the economy, who will be the people losing their jobs?

The internet and talk radio are the modern day equivalents of the “printing press on every corner days of old
‘. Unlike those days, however, we are here to stay. The truth must be told. It will be told and no amount of push back by the enemies of truth will succeed in silencing the voices of We the People.

Another dodge, where are you going to get the workers if you deport 12 million workers?? So what if a percentage are criminal? Every population has criminals, but looking around you see Mexicans working. Where you going to replace them?

I just don't get why they are pushing this crap again.

To appease the special interests who are pushing for it (like agricultural businesses in South Carolina and Texas, financial companies who profit from high-interest loans, etc.) They won't be Congress people for the rest of their lives...

Why do employers have to do the enforcement? With fake ID there is no way for employers to know who is illegal.

A guest workers program I can understand

What's being pushed for, is way beyond a guest workers program and all it's managed to do is piss off a lot of people on both sides

Its too contrived for me...My view is he is told to behave this way on FNS.

I agree. It's about ratings; however, Fox News panels will continue to be the only ones that I'll consistently watch.

First, we have existing laws about enforcement against employers. They are not supposed to hire knowingly illegals. They could at least check the SS numbers with the USG to see if they are bogus or not.

We both know that many employers, especially small businesses or individuals who hire illegals, are not interested in abiding by the laws of the land. They hire illegals because they are cheaper and more exploitable. The employres make more money and are more competitive if they can reduce their labor costs to as low as possible.

Many localities are passing legislation making things tougher on illegals and the businesses are feeling the heat. Maybe they feel that the easiest, quickest way to alleviate the pain is just to make the illegals legal, without going through the hassle of a guest worker program.

C’mon kabar, get real. Suppose the owner of B.Ray Mfg. {hypothetically} has a job opening and his best employee, Hector Mayorga, interrupts his lunch hour soccer game to introduce his cousin, who’s sporting a Viva Guatemala tee shirt; why shouldn’t B.Ray hire him just because the Social Security System says his name is Beverly Yorkelson?

The fact, that many American citizens are willing to place legalization ahead of a strong effort to secure the borders and carefully sort through the difficult and lengthy process of determining which of those who have slipped in illegally should be allowed to remain, is most troubling to me.

Of course there are serious economic ramifications associated with finally coming to grips with a crisis that has been allowed to exist far too long; but this mess is now primarily a national security issue, IMHO. I am, alas, beginning to believe that the US could sacrifice its security on the altar of cheap labor.

I believe this whole immigration is a ploy by the Democrats to take heat off there anti war stance.

Not me.

I think it's a brazen effort to admit scores of millions of new, compliant, cheap, patriotically ignorant, poorly educated, nearly unassimilable voters who will reliably vote Democrat for life and drive massive government benefit increases, thereby insuring the cycle continues permanently.

The fact it will destroy America as a distinctly American, "western" representative republic and our present middle class is somewhat immaterial to them but is a nice side benefit as long as they can get their domestic help cheaply and consolidate their power over everybody, thereby becoming the new Caudillos of the hemisphere.
