Posted on 06/16/2007 11:34:10 AM PDT by SandRat

Breaking News on the Nifong case being read right now on FoxNews TV. I'm hearing convictions out numbering for each indictment outnumber no convictions at least 3 to one. The guy is going down and going down HARD.

He would make a great assistant for Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, Feinstein. Oh my, the list goes on and on.

The letter was profoundly stupid of them. Does not speak well of Duke hiring practices and vetting.

What a wonderful weekend tho - Hamas and Fatah killing each other - the surge is having positive results ... and now this ... gosh how much good news can one take at one time?

The larger picture is that this case probably affected the outcome of the 2006 Congressional Elections somewhat.

The ignorant and terminally angry Left thought it was one more instance of “rich” white men trying to get away with criminally targeting poor black women. And of course, “rich” white men are Republicans and poor black women are Democrats.

The TV networks and other similar news outlets were complicit with Nifong in not reporting the extreme exculpatory evidence of the “Duke Boys’” innocence in a timely or meaningful way.

To listen to network TV news, you would have thought the case against “those Duke Boys” was headed for convictions of all three until just before the cases were dropped.

The “exotic dancer” business should rightfully be reduced to zero now when foolish but not criminal young men realize what can happen when they hire a “dancer”.

“Nifong got that smirk wiped off his face.”

I’ve been watching. He actually looks like he’s going to vomit.

"Well. C'mon boy. Out with it!"

>>>$2,000,000 each is not NEAR enough to cover damages.

Possibly, but that will be the offer +/-.

Remember, they suffered no physical injuries, they did no jail time. They were publicly accused, but also publicly exonerated by agent of the state.

$2.000,000 plus lawyer’s fees is about right.

Sheriff Arpio of Maricopa County AZ always has pink underwear, Zebra Suits, Green Baloney meals, real old fashioned chain-gangs, and room in the GP Medium Tents in the Vally of the Sun Desert facility.

I am listening to the Mr Evens.

His dad suffered type 1 diabetes. (stress related).

His grandfather died of a heart-attack during the investigation.

It seems like it’s taking forever.

This is going to cost the taxpayers a fortune. Every case Nifool prosecuted has to be in question. As for the Seligman, Finnerty & Evans families I agree. $2Mil isn’t even close.

I bet they won’t investigate anything though. Throughout this case it’s appeared to be so widespread it would bankrupt the city. I think they are going to want this thing to go away as soon as possible. You know, “healing”.

You hear Cash Michaels on TV this morning claim little is known about Crystal?

One of the guests on Greta's program yesterday put the proportion of prosecutors like Nifong in the country at about one in five.

If Nifong can stay out of prison, he can always get hired to teach at a law school. The University of Arkansas Law School has had instructors with even lower morals (or at least one who comes to mind).

I suspect $2 mill will be the starting point for Duke U.
A bargain though at twice the price.

“Throughout this case it’s appeared to be so widespread it would bankrupt the city.”

It should BK the city - and that would serve a a possible wake-up call to voters about who they elect and the consequences of making poor choices.

He lied when he said he wasn't lying, lol.

Did you see that worm twitching at the start?

ALL he's thinking about is saving his ass - and even then, what's the worst that can befall him - a career change?

There's no real deterrent for out of control prosecuters, anywhere. Even in the middle of this slapdown, the bar was reluctant to charge Nif'ingon with lying to them, as they felt that a disagreement on facts could lead to a crimnal charge, and that would be "over charging" (apparently Patrick Fitzgerald & NCIS never got that memo).

What really amazes me are the fraternity of lawyers who not only support each other's unrestrained and unconscionable attacks from the safety of their pulpits, knowing that even should they fall, they won't be bruised - it's the tiffys they get in should we even question their motives!

Nice smackdown on the twink, btw. You know I love ya when you talk like that.

;~)

Did the others agree with that? I hope it is not as high. There is Johnny Sutton who did pretty much the same thing as Nifong to several innocent men who unfortunately did not have the resources that the lacrosse player have, and these BP agents ended in jail.

Not only Nifong by Crystal Magnum should be sent to jail.
