Washington, D.C. The U.S. House of Representatives this morning voted to withhold federal emergency services funding for "sanctuary cities" that protect illegal immigrants.
Anti-immmigration champion Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., sponsored the measure, which he says would apply to cities such as Denver and Boulder. He was elated by its passage, which stunned critics and supporters alike.

Just to dramatize things a bit, somebody should set up a bus caravan from Arizona to the front door of the mayor’s house of one of these cities. Drop off all the illegals on their front yard.
“Fortuño”
This one cannot vote on the House floor. He’s the delegate from a Territory not a State.
FWIW, he’s out of there in 2009.
Good start
Thanks!
Thanks for the clarification, IslandJeff. Fortunately, it wasn’t a nailbiter.
After I read your post I went to robertsrules.org and tried to find that particular courtesy, but was unable to locate it. Do you have a link? :)
1. They're doors should be ripped off.
2. Install cameras and microphones.
We should be able to listen and watch every move these people make.
Lets end the closed door BS.
This IS quite a shock, and while I dont like Tancredo, I’ll give him credit! Folks, I think the leftwingers are figuring out that this bill sucks FOR THEM TOO. A recent thread on DU pretty much spelled out the reason for leftwing opposition (suppression of wages, etc). Some common cause between (some of) the DUmmies and the FReepers.
Little contribution to Tom, nice thank you to local Rep. Shuler. Now, time to launch my electronic/fax spanking to the losers who so foolishly made their true colors known......
“This amendment is actually part of the Homeland Security Funding bill.”
Yep, interesting place, don’t ya think? Shouldn’t be news to Chertoff, he was happy to be in the Amnesty Bill’s photo op.
Mr. Chertoff: Secure my Damn Border or resign your Homeland Security Post!
That’s so funny!
Hormel and Del Monte, both known for employing illegal aliens!
What’s the logo on the left sleeve? Swift?
As I was driving home from work today, listening to Sean Hannity's radio show and fuming about the revived attempt by the President and the Senate GOP "Leadersheep" to sell out the country, I mused tha one of the best things to do about illegal immigration would be to cut off federal funding of "sanctuary" cities...
God Bless Tancredo!
OOOHRAH!
Let it be so.
Great news! Tancredo has always been solid on immigration, so I’m not surprised that he was the one to do this.
bump for later.
234/189 in a Dem controlled House.
apparently those who run for election every two years are listening
Chris Cannon (Utah Republican pro amnesty shill) voted against Trancredo’s amendment. >:-(
You go Tom!
