Washington, D.C. The U.S. House of Representatives this morning voted to withhold federal emergency services funding for "sanctuary cities" that protect illegal immigrants.
Anti-immmigration champion Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., sponsored the measure, which he says would apply to cities such as Denver and Boulder. He was elated by its passage, which stunned critics and supporters alike.

The irony here is that soon there won’t be any illegals.
Once the Kennedy/Bush Amnesty bill becomes law they will all become legals.
This amendment is actually part of the Homeland Security Funding bill.
It is outrageous that Cities refuse to get involved in law enforcement on the basis that it is a federal law to enforce then ignore that basis of argument to provide city level sanctuary on the basis that the fedgov is tyranical.

Thanks Tom. We'll be getting a new senate and president.
Seattle doesn't have any balls. As long as Jim McDermott is alive I could give a damn if everything west of the eastern high-rise slides into the Sound.
The House passed the amendment, 234 to 189, with 50 Democrats voting in favor.
Thanks for the ping.
“Welcome to SANCTUARY CITY . . . Relax, you made it! Brought to you by Executive Order 116.”
The billboard was referring to a 1998 order issued by former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb that outlines the city’s anti-discrimination stance regarding immigrants.
I’m glad to hear that Tom is making some noise.
Let me revise that to western high-rise.
BRAVO - Thank you Tom. Keep up the good work.
bttt
Are the congress critters starting to get the message and do something about illegal immigration???
It would be just toooo much to hope for.
I hadn’t even heard about this amendment. Good for him.

Tancredo Amendment to Cut Funding for Sanctuary Cities Passes with Strong Bipartisan Support
The times, they are a changing. Rep. Tancredo
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) U.S. Representative Tom Tancredos (R-CO) amendment to cut funding from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Bill (H.R. 2638) for cities that employ a sanctuary policy passed the House with strong bipartisan support today; 234 to 189.
The times, they are a changing, said an exuberant Tancredo, who had introduced the same amendment several times in the past with far less support. This should also serve as a warning sign to the White House and supporters of re-introducing an amnesty bill from the Senate. If that legislation makes it to the House, it is in serious trouble.
The Amendment would prevent cities like Denver and San Francisco who employ a sanctuary policy for illegal aliens from receiving first responder funds, including law enforcement and terrorism prevention grants, among other programs.
Tancredo concluded, The days that local officials could pander to the open borders special interests are over.

Good for Tancredo. Does this mean no Fed funds for San Fran Nan? Or L.A. Or Chicago? Or all those other “sanctuary cities”?
OR, a little birdie told me he may be out announcing this win to the masses ;)
CONGRATULATIONS AND GO TOM!!!
Let’s be in serious prayer for Mr. Tancredo.
