Some students are presumably eligible for four or five graduations. A gay student with a Native American father and a Filipino mother could attend the Asian, Filipino, and American Indian ceremonies, plus the mainstream graduation and the Lavender Graduation for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered students.

Because "progressives" are all for group rights, but only for "victimized" groups, which is basically any group but straight white males.

Hell, I've seen essentially white professors come up with some real stretches to identify themselves with some obscure "minority" in order to gain credibility. We've all seen Ward Churchill lie about being Amerindian, and I once had a sociology professor that made a great deal about being Creole, even to the point of deliberately forcing her accent into what can only be described as a halfassed parody of Louisiana, just to emphasize that she wasn't Anglo-Saxon.

That's the mindset we're dealing with here.
