The FReeper Canteen Crew sadly announces the passing of Mr. Tonkin. (68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub).
If you would like to leave a message for his family, please direct them to amom.
Also, we ask that you send prayers to amom, his son Matthew, family, and friends.
We love you, Mr. Tonkin. Say 'hello' to Texas Cowboy for all of us.
You're missed and will never be forgotten.
We hope to make this an online memorial book for his family.
Details will be provided later regarding funeral services.
Mr Tonkin helped train more vessel examiners. He was so proud of the Coast Guard
and all the things they did to help protect our country.
Salute and fair sailing to you, Tonk. I was my privilege to know you. Rest in peace, my friend.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones. May God bless and comfort you and guide you through this difficult time.

This is true. Ever the helper, Brian/Tonkin wanted all and sundry to know about the free image-hosting service at TinyPic. He was a “brother” in so many ways. :)

So long, buddy—glad to have had you while we did.
I read quite a few of Tonk’s posts before his stroke. I always knew what to expect from him, because he always stood up for what was right. He stood up for people like Terri Schiavo, our troops and veterans, our border patrol agents and Minutemen, our law enforcement officials when they upheld the law and their victims when they didn’t. He was most vocal in supporting our troops. He never waivered. His voice has been missed, and knowing he won’t be coming back now is painful. But his words and deeds will live on, and continue to inspire.
There are celebrations in Heaven today.
You are most welcome!
Brian was a Dear FRiend to me..
I shall miss him greatly..

Tonk — your unstinting loyalty and devotion to our Constitution, Country, and Coast Guard is an inspiration to us all. Your FRiend from PA.
He’s an imposing gent. I’m glad he’s on our side!
May they find comfort in the Lord.
Mr.Tonkin will be missed.
You always brought smiles to my face and my only regret is that I never did meet you in person.
You are my hero.
R.I.P Mr.Tonkin
these are lonely, dark days.....
Peace and blessings to the family......
RIP and prayers for his family.
Keep up the good fight. Several of my sons friends, btw, are republicans at 18 years old. Chin up, hopefully conservative beliefs are coming back.
and pray to him in his name to help our fight.
The Navy Hymn Lyrics by Reverend William Whiting and Music by Reverend John B. Dyke
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep,
Its own appointed limits keep.
Oh hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea! Amen.
Eternal Father, lend Thy grace To
those with wings who fly thro' space,
Thro wind and storm, thro' sun and rain,
Oh bring them safely home again.
Oh Father, hear an humble prayer,
For those in peril in the air! Amen.
Oh Trinity of love and pow'r,
Our brethren shield in danger's hour,
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them where so e'er they go.
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea! Amen.

Sad, but the Godly goes to their rest and their LORD.
