Presidential hopeful John Edwards said Friday he will win much of the South and help the Democratic Party win more U.S. House and Senate seats in the Midwest as well if he is party's 2008 nominee. "You should think not only about who would be a presidential candidate, but who would also strengthen our ability to help us win congressional seats in some of the tough places in this country," Edwards said at a campaign stop in New Hampshire. "If we pick up 15, 20 seats in the House, some additional seats in the Senate because we have a presidential candidate who is appealing in a lot of parts of America, then all of the sudden we have the (power) to really move this agenda." The former North Carolina senator said Edwards said he could upset any of the leading Republican candidates - former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Arizona Sen. John McCain - in the South. "If I'm the nominee against any of those guys, I think there's a terrific chance we're going to take a bunch of Southern states," Edwards said. "You know how this works. If the top of the ticket is strong, everything below it does better. These races in the South and Midwest are very close." He also said he looks forward to debating the eventual Republican nominee. "The first thing I would say would be ... If you like what's happened in Iraq, you should vote for this guy. They'll give you four more years of it," Edwards said. "If you don't like what's happened in Iraq, if you want to see a change, then you should vote for me." He said Republicans have lost the monopoly on national security.

Is Edwards on something? He needs to go visit Paris ... maybe she can rehab him.

can someone point me to that funny Edwards hair do video? you know the one where he is prepping up for the cameras all cutesy and such.... rofl
Is it not wonderful that is all the have?
hahahaha thank you so much. I am laughing my butt off while watching him do this. man it’s borderline on gay LOL
Help me out, my memory is failing me. The esteemed former senator from North Carolina was on the last Democrat presidentrial ticket, was he not? Who won North Carolina? How many Southern States (or any states, for that matter) did the esteemed former senator from North Carolina contribute to his ticket?
That is SO golden, LOL! I never tire of it. :)
I'll take that bet.
ok.. it’s gay! lmao
I say this because Christopher Reeve will get up and walk before Edwards does any of thius.
Gerbil in Chief
In the words of Gephardt, you were a MISERABLE FALIURE
I was living in NC when Edwards was a Senator. He only won because the Republican he beat wasn’t a career politician and had won his seat during the 1994 revolution. His opponent was in over his head. Most North Carolinians are far too conservative to go for Edwards. I find it hilarious that Edwards has sunk so low, he is saying “Vote for me, cuz I talk funny!”. Southerners aren’t stupid and will not vote for this clown.
You’ve got to post that ridiculas picture of him primping. Talk about a Christie wannabe!
It was actually 1998. Sorry for the error.
Yea, sure, Johnnie Boy! You could not even risk running for Senate re-election in NC because you were and remain so very liberal. And NC is not one of the more conservative southern states. Now you think you are going to break up the solid GOP South? Not very likely. More likely is that any of the top tier GOP candidates hand you your rear end on a silver platter.
OOpss..embarrassing typo (”failure”)
