The Star Spangled Banner (video)

I came across this little girl's video on You Tube. Her name is Jaycie - that's all I know about her, other than the fact that she brought tears to my eyes while I watched her sing the national anthem. It was taped in December of 2006, at a minor league hockey game, according to the source.

This is my first vanity, although I signed up at FR in 2003. July 4th is coming up. I wanted to share this with all of you, because it thrills the heart that Jaycie represents countless American little ones who are being brought up to love this country as we all do.

God bless America.

She is something, I envy that talent. I never tire of hearing patriotic songs by anyone who can really sing them. Thanks

"I never tire of hearing patriotic songs by anyone who can really sing them."

This child sings it beautifully, and with every fiber of her being, doesn't she? : )

Well, here's the Grateful Dead singing the National Anthem at a baseball game in (I think) San Francisco.

Sorry about that too. The little girl appears to be around 7 or 8 years old...don’t recall if they told her age. She is cute as a button.

She hits every note in a strong, confident voice...goosebumps. I just teared up when she got to the “gave proof through the night that our flag was still there” - praying that the flag will still be flying high, and that she still will have the freedom to sing that anthem before a crowd of patriotic Americans decades from now - thankful for young ones like her.

I hope that her parents will give her encouragement in the right direction. Maybe a new Shirley Temple!

I have a 13 yo granddaughter that can sing and act like a pro.

Her parents took her out of an expensive private school, and are going to home school this next year, so that they can give her voice lessons.

Thanks for pinging me. I will send it on to my daughter who has DSL, and get her to bookmark, then when I go there, we will all be able to enjoy.
