We all saw this coming...with the popularity and acceptance in popular culture and the media of treating smokers as vermin, no "solution" to the smoking issue will ever be acceptable to the antismoking and enviro Nazis other than a total ban on all tobacco products, sales and usage. Outdoor heaters will also be banned, but there will always be 'some' villain, as far as these pressure groups are concerned....a total victory would put them out of (a very lucrative) business.
Earlier this year the garden chain Wyevale stopped selling patio heaters after pressure from environmental campaigners
I suppose that if I were the owner of Wyevale's and woke up one morning to find my beloved pet decapitated on my front lawn with a note attached:" Your family is next! Stop selling outdoor heaters!" I would probably feel that it's a whole lot easier to drop one out of thousands of products that I carry.

Maybe I can buy some carbon credits from Algore so that my husband can use his space heater in the garage.

Pay me $10,000 per year (+/-; negotiable) and I will certify that I will not use any of these heaters, thereby providing carbon offsets for all of these fine citizens, thereby allowing continued use with a clear conscience.

If patio heaters are outlawed, only outlaws will have patio heaters.

With a single heater releasing almost four tons of greenhouse gases a year
***************************
These heaters run off of a standard 20# propane tank ,, I’m guessing that it would be in use (at most) perhaps 6 months a year for a total of about 3600# of fuel burn a year ... and in England with petrol at $5-$6/gallon I’m sure propane is right up there too, no $12 tank fills there.. so the greenies are saying it creates 2x by weight in CO2 of the fuel input?? it doesn’t compute for me.. but then again I like things warm and have no problem with climate change.

It's pretty sad that keeping warm while you have a cigarette is more important than tackling climate change... The.

Patio heaters installed by pubs to keep smokers warm on chilly nights could soon produce as much carbon dioxide as a small city, it has been claimed. On the bright side, if these heaters cause enough global warming, then they won't need them anymoree.

I noticed a few patio heaters on Paris Hilton’s patio when she was getting picked up and brought back to court. Maybe this is why he judge is so upset!

One thing that I’ve noticed:
Folks (such as myself) banished to the smoking patios seem to have more fun than the patrons cooped-up inside (they don’t want to associate with the dirty smokers). I attribute the jocularity to being outside and enjoying the elements.

Carbon dioxide is not a problem! When will the Dioxophobia end?
To: Neidermeyer
so the greenies are saying it creates 2x by weight in CO2 of the fuel input?? Two moles of C4H10 weighs 116 grams (48+10 each). They will combine with 13 moles of O2 weighing 416 grams (32 each) to yield ten moles of H2O weighing 180 grams (18 each) and eight moles of CO2 weighing 352 grams (44 each).
Thus, burning 3,600 pounds of propane would produce about 10,924 pounds of CO2.

Those heaters attract filthy disease ridden smokers much like trash attracts rats.Don't worry, they will soon be illegal throughout the UK and Europe, and the USA will be next for the EnviroJihadists.
Friends of the Earth director Tony Juniper said: "Patio heaters waste energy and inflict unnecessary damage on the environment.
"Ministers must do more to get their climate strategy back on track. It's time to ban the sale of these metal monstrosities."
