With a single heater releasing almost four tons of greenhouse gases a year
***************************
These heaters run off of a standard 20# propane tank ,, I’m guessing that it would be in use (at most) perhaps 6 months a year for a total of about 3600# of fuel burn a year ... and in England with petrol at $5-$6/gallon I’m sure propane is right up there too, no $12 tank fills there.. so the greenies are saying it creates 2x by weight in CO2 of the fuel input?? it doesn’t compute for me.. but then again I like things warm and have no problem with climate change.
Two moles of C4H10 weighs 116 grams (48+10 each). They will combine with 13 moles of O2 weighing 416 grams (32 each) to yield ten moles of H2O weighing 180 grams (18 each) and eight moles of CO2 weighing 352 grams (44 each).
Thus, burning 3,600 pounds of propane would produce about 10,924 pounds of CO2.
