Weird McDonald's Logo
ABC ^

Posted on 06/10/2007 5:04:02 PM PDT by isthisnickcool

I was watching Extreme Makeover on ABC and Mcdonald's had a commercial come on. At the end of the commercial they had something over their logo that looked odd. Does anyone know what these stars and moon mean?

LOL. Note: The tree on the South Carolina state flag is clearly a cabbage palmetto (sabal palmetto), not the more common palm tree of Florida and the Caribbean (e.g. roystonea regia, et al.), which is a related but distinct genus within the family Arecaceae.

The symbol you posted could also represent an partial eclipse as the two objects eastern limbs are near alignment.Think moon in front of sun.

That was quite an impressive response.

I might even be understating it a bit.

Humblegunner,
Respectfully I disagree and here is why...

Our ideological and political enemies have made victim hood a profession. They are constantly casting around for anything to be “outraged” about… demanding money, apologies etc. It is a weapon they wield freely and unopposed.

well turnabouts fair play.

In fact it may be part of a necessary counter tactic.

So now even on what you see as a small issue… We should be outraged and vocal about it demanding to know why this has happened who is responsible..

MegaCorp will resist at first but then happily throw someone under the bus..Which sets an example that will not be lost on other “Suits”.

It is important that Corporations and the Suits that run them learn there is a price to be paid for pandering to minority groups whatever the group..Two sides to that coin.

That will serve all the American People overtime as word gets out. Shareholders will get involved as they watch profits dwindle and the popularity and profitability of their brand decrease.

How is that bad? MegaCorps do not donate to Christian or Conservative causes to any extent that I know of. All while they constantly find excuses to pander to and fund the left using corporate dollars to support their personal liberal causes under the guise of corporate altruism or “responsibility”

So Conservatives win when they counterattack following the above strategy which is practiced by left every day and lose ground when they do nothing.

What am I missing?

W

I’m just tossing this out, but could it mean that many of their franchises stay open late?

Drive thru is 24/7 nowadays, at least near me...

>>McD’s going halal?<<

I would bet it means that this McDonalds is responding to market conditions. They adapt all over the world - its one reason the are both so American and so successful in so many places.

For example in Hawaii they server Spam. In India the don’t server beef.

I don’t know McD’s history on Halal but I know Burger King lost a lot of business when it came out on soc.religion.islam that they used shortening with pork in it.

Personally I like knowing that meat is Halal or Kosher for health reasons - most of the other foods and rules don’t make a difference to me one way or the other.

Except Passover Kosher Coke = The best soft drink available - they still use real cane sugar.

You may be missing the implications of your suggestion.

Are you saying that companies should not make products for niche markets nor tailor their main products to appeal to local demand?

For example what about all the companies who make Kosher products, or make sure their normal product is Kosher (like Coca Cola)? What about marketing products to the black community if they have different tastes? Or having restaurants or dishes that appeal to Asians or Italians or whomever?

That doesn’t seem wrong to me -that seems like good old fashioned capitalism.

I think I got it. The moon represents South Carolina, and the stars? China! Look at the Chinese flag, it's got a few little stars on it. I googled up "China South Carolina", and found this snip...
Exports, Jobs, and Foreign Investment: South Carolina:"Over this time span, South Carolina also more than doubled its exports to Turkey, China, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Australia. ..."

So I think it's possibly a submliminal kiss-up to the Sino/South Carolinian Axis Of Something Sinister being formed. McD just wants to get in tight with this emerging force on the horizon. Possibly.

Could be that this is the summer of fast food places competing for the late night business.

It'll get worse before it gets better.
