Defeating this bill permanantly is the only option, Ken.

“No, it’s not dead. Defeat is not an option,” Wish they had the same warrior spirit when it came to the War in Iraq!

We must be vigilant, but I do suspect that a large number of congressmen on both sides of the isle got chewed on enough that they will not want to revisit this one anytime soon.

No, its not dead. Defeat is not an option,This sounds particulary lame, coming from a Democrat.
I actually am in favor of some kind of immigration bill, but my fellow freepers have pointed out to me how bad this one is. I would still probably support a bill that most here would oppose, but this thing is a real stinker! I thank the folks here who have educated me.
What really impresses me is that stance on Principle that our side takes, the Left generally bends over for the Democrats, not us! Congrats to all!

"No, it's not dead. Defeat is not an option," Salazar, D-Denver, told CNN on the morning...
Salazar continued, "Why, only this morning, numerous Senators have called to tell me just how much they enjoyed being pummeled by their constituents, and how much their staffs have enjoyed answering the phones non-stop for the last two weeks. We just can't WAIT to repeat that experience."

"What needs to happen (is) the people who care about national security and securing the border...they need to step up to the plate and get this done," Salazar said. Oh Ken, but we did! Thousands and thousands of us stepped up to the plate and let you and yours know exactly what we think of this shamnesty bill.
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., one of the most outspoken Republican backers of the bill, was expected to talk about immigration later today, when he begins a two-day presidential campaign trip to Iowa.
IMHO, he's done. Anybody got a fork?
