Youll be shocked, shocked to find out whos behind this: Veterans for Peace, Global Exchange and Code Pink. But dont you dare question their patriotism. Questioning their sanity is fair game, though. Evidence of west coast anti-military crazy goes back a few years.
The annual aerial show by the U.S. Navys Blue Angels a San Francisco tradition dating back to 1981 that pumps millions into the local economy is running into opposition from three local peace advocacy groups that are calling for a permanent halt to the popular Fleet Week flyover.
CodePink, Global Exchange and Veterans for Peace, Chapter 69, are working with Supervisor Chris Daly on a Board of Supervisors resolution to address concerns over the Blue Angels.
Daly acknowledged he is considering a call to halt the flyovers because, he said, they seem dangerous and unnecessary. Daly said he plans on introducing the resolution as early as Tuesday, but is still drafting the language. A resolution is not legally binding, but states a board position.
The Code Pinkos dont care about the economics, or the inspiration that kids might get from Fleet Week and the Blue Angels (well, they may care about the inspiration, but only to denounce it). They only care about themselves and their precious politics.
CodePink has launched an online petition, signed by more than 500 people to date, calling on leaders to end the flyovers for reasons of public safety, air pollution and fuel waste.
Cox said the resolution would establish that city leaders and the public are not in support of having the Blue Angels.
We can then take the next steps we have to legally stop them, he said.
Hm. San Fran has a population of about 751,682. Code Pink has 500 signatures on their online petition. Theyre a national organization with connections to the Speaker herself500 signatures is a pathetic result. But they think they represent the public of San Francisco. Given that citys warped politics maybe they do, but they have a looong way to go to prove it.

I think I'll launch an online petition for all members of CodePink and other like-minded leftists to stop breathing, for reasons of public safety, air pollution and fuel waste.

If they put the pinkos in the same area, perhaps the Blue Angels can swoop down and strafe them.

One of the cool things they would do during Fleet Week is anchor a carrier in San Francisco Bay and launch aircraft off the deck. Seriously?
I thought carrier ops were best performed with a good amount of air over the deck.

San Francisco is a beautiful old city. That should be at the bottom of the Gulf of Nevada.

That's where they use to keep the nuclear wessels, right?
Tell them to stick their protest and proposition where the sun doesn’t shine.

Moonbats seek to ban Blue Angels from San Fran Excellent! That will open up a spot for the Blue Angles to visit another city, hopefully here in Minnesota.

Petition: Halt the Blue Angels To Mayor Gavin Newson and the Board of Supervisors: We the undersigned, who live and/or work in San Francisco, ask that you join us in seeking a permanent halt to the annual strafing of the city by the Blue Angels, for the following reasons:
- IMMEDIATE RISK TO LIFE AND PROPERTY: As the planes fly in extremely tight formations, the slightest error by a pilot or ground-based controller, a computer malfunction or aircraft mechanical trouble could spell disaster. NOISE POLLUTION: When jet aircraft fly low over the city, the canyons of concrete, steel and glass magnify the noise to nerve-shattering levels that would bring arrests if it came from the civilian sector. It absolutely terrifies small children, the elderly, persons who have experienced war, and pets.
- AIR POLLUTION: While we try to stem global climate change and avert its catastrophic consequences, the aircraft spew tons of toxic exhaust during their fly-overs.
- FUEL WASTE: This is inexcusable, especially in a time of alleged under-supplies of crude oil and its byproducts. WASTE OF TAXPAYERS DOLLARS: This, too, is unforgivable, especially in a time of federal deficit and precipitously mounting national debt.
WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND ATTENTION.

We’ll take them here in San Diego. They usually come here, and this is the first year I could remember of them not being here during fleet week.
Maybe we’ll get to see them after all!!

Living in San Francisco, I enjoy the weather and the great part of the city within which i reside. Politics are quite another story. We have quite an assortment of lunatics running city hall, but they just believe they’re in charge, but mostly what they do is bring this sort of dribble to the press. Another example of the left-wing foul mouthed, self-absorbed, chris Daly is a grandstander. He is without substance and will fade into oblivion not without screaming and whining. Don’t worry, this event WILL go on. One of its staunchist supporters is our previous mayor and current Senator Diane Feinstein. Regardless of your views, she does support and elevate this event. She is above the fray and useless ranting of the type Daly and Code Pinko represent!

I remember the ANTI-USA crowd denounced the Chicago air show a few years back (they still do I’m sure) because it supports the military industrial complex, and it recruits kids.

I'd like to see them fly really low over the city, hit the afterburners, go supersonic, and shatter a WHOLE lot of windows.
But that's just me.

‘Ef ‘em. Get rid of Fleet Week all together. The city doesn’t deserve the money or the recognition it brings in.
