Fred Thompson campaign donation issue. (Vanity)

There may be an issue with Fred's website telling you that your donation went through, but it did not. Yesterday, I donated and the page came up thanking me and saying there would be an email. I didn't recieve a confirmation email. One or two others on FR said the same thing. I just called my credit card company, and the payment did NOT go through. If you did not recieve a confirmation email, I suggest that you check with your credit card company to see if the charge is on your bill. I have contacted someone in Fred's campaign, and they are now aware and it is being looked into. Hopefully, it is an isolated incident related to high traffic.

I notified the site and recieved a prompt reply. I exchanged emails and the campaign is aware and working on it.

BE AWARE: Charges are not posted for a day or so on many cards. You need to speak with a PERSON to make sure the charge is not PENDING. If you auto-select from the prompt for most recent charges ON YOUR BILL, the charge could have gone through, but be PENDING.

When you go to the site to donate, please ensure that cookies are enabled (and accepted). That’s the problem and the symptoms with the other forms on the site.

Good catch. My donation appears to have gone through just fine yesterday though. I got a confirmaiton email from the Fred camp. Cookies are enabled.

I didn't get an e-mail but I can see it as a pending transaction in my online credit card statement.

First, I want to thank you for the encouragement you’ve provided me over the past few months. As I’ve said, for a lot of politicians, encouragement to run from three relatives and an unemployed campaign consultant is considered an unstoppable groundswell. I’ve heard from a lot more people, including you. Now we’re moving forward together.

Second, I want to thank you for your generous contribution. We’re entering a new phase of this process, and if I do take on this challenge, we’re not going to do things the same old way. The so-called ‘experts’ say we’re getting in too late. Well, I don’t buy it, and you don’t, either.

We’re going to plow some new ground and make a real difference for our nation.

Your support is going to help us bring to our fellow American the message of change and a call to return to the principles of our founding heritage. It’s critical that we address our nation’s challenges through the core ideals of self-governance, free markets, and the rule of law.

I believe there is a real sense across our country that we’re tired of the same old petty politics. Our fellow Americans want to see some real change. They want it in Washington, and they want it closer to home. They want a better future for themselves and for their families.

I signed up yesterday and never got the email either, (Or so I thought) AOL routed it as spam.
