BLOOMFIELD, Conn. - A 15-year-old girl missing for nearly a year was found Wednesday locked in a small hidden room under the staircase of a West Hartford home, and two people who live there were arrested, police said.
Bloomfield police said they found the girl alive in a room blocked from view by a cabinet. They had gone to the home with West Hartford police to serve search warrants for DNA and other evidence.
Adam Gault, 41, was charged with second-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree custodial interference, interfering with an officer, risk of injury to a minor and second-degree forgery. He was being held on $500,000 bond.
Ann Murphy, 40, was charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree reckless endangerment, conspiracy to commit second-degree custodial interference and risk of injury to a minor. She was held on $100,000 bond.
Police said they expect to make additional arrests. The girl was in protective custody and being examined by medical personnel.
They should put those two in that room and seal it up and come back in a year to get their bodies.
Her dad? Was she hiding or being hid?
Oh...a cheek swab?
Or maybe just take the entirety of his equipment OFF and hold it as evidence?
Thanks.
Sorry. I didn’t see your post before sending mine.
Based on the Custodial charges, one of these 2 has to be this girls parent or something... otherwise it would have been kidnapping, I would think.
We’ll have to let this one unfold.. I don’t know anymore than one can infer out of the article based on the charges and manner in which this developed.
Exactly, based on these charges, this doesn’t sound remotely like a stranger abduction. Otherwise Kidnapping etc would have been the charges, not “custodial interference”.
John Galt.
Really, it would be easier under the eyes and through the foramen in conjunction with a lobotomy...
Yes, I look it over again, and I suspect that the man is her father, but that the courts gave custody to the mother. The child probably prefers being with her father and was hiding when the police came by.
We’ll see when the facts come out, but that’s my suspicion. The ages are about right. He would have been about 25 or 26 when she was born.
K-rap!
Now, maybe, he WAS a HS chum.
TXS, again
Yeah, and the girl isn’t being sent home. She’s in protective custody. Sounds like an ugly situation, but not national news worthy.
Where’s the friggin’ address... ?!
I think it would be pretty difficult for him to fake the DNA of his coronary tissue.
You’re thinking of John Gault.
Please explain, the story is not clear. It’s just that the girl was locked in under the staircase and in this “day and age” that is not good. I apoligize for jumping to conclusions but I still DO NOT understand. I do still want three acres and razor wire.
Have you had a humor-ectomy recently?
Adam Gault was close enough to make a joke of it.
A .50 caliber bullet should extract plenty of DNA.
