When: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007.

Where: 11th and H St., NW, Washington, D.C.

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

From the Hillary for President website:

Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Katharine McPhee and Caroline Rhea to Join Hillary at Launch of Club 44
Event to Kick-Off Efforts to Reach Out to Young Women

Hillary for President announced that 10-time Grammy winner, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, and American Idol finalist, Katharine McPhee, will perform for Hillary Clinton and a crowd of thousands at the kick-off of Club 44 in Washington, DC on June 6, 2007. Actress and comedian, Caroline Rhea, will serve as the emcee at this family-friendly event.

Club 44 is the campaign's effort to identify and mobilize young women voters who support Hillary Clinton for president. According to a study by the Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning & Engagement (CIRCLE), in 2004, 12.5 million women between ages 18-24 were eligible to vote.

"Young women can play a major role in deciding who our next president is," said McPhee. "It's important for all of us to get involved in the political process, and I'm happy to do my part by being part of this great event and performing for our next president, Hillary Clinton."

Other notable women will also be present at the event including: Senator Barbara Mikulski, Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, former vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro, tennis legend Billie Jean King, human rights activist Dolores Huerta, and EMILY'S List president and Club 44 co-emcee, Ellen Malcolm.

"I am a huge fan of the women participating in this event and am excited to be part of this special evening," said Edmonds.

In addition to the live musical performances, Caroline Rhea will entertain the crowd with her signature wit and comedy. "I'm thrilled to be sharing the stage with all these amazing women," said Rhea. "This country is ready for change and Hillary is ready to lead as the next president."

The event is expected to take on a carnival theme with a moon bounce, food vendors, and other fun activities for the whole family. Local choirs and marching bands will also perform at the event and the campaign is expected to raffle off several prizes including a dinner with Hillary Clinton.

"I am honored to have Kenny 'Babyface' Edmonds, Katharine McPhee, Caroline Rhea, and all the other amazing women support me at the launch of Club 44," said Hillary Clinton. "I believe this presidential election is about taking our country in a new direction, and I have the experience to get this country back on the right track. I am confident that women will be at the forefront of our campaign to create real change in America."

Go right ahead, and thanks for asking first (a lot of people don’t).

Thanks, I like to make shrink art items and even just keepsakes for the Freepers at special events.

I may add a date and pass them out to DC freepers on a future event. I don’t have time to get them there this week. I am in Florida now.

Hillary Freeps have been such fun in the past...I was helping TGSL get pictures of her at a bookstore. I was wearing a black suit...Hillary did not like it!( The picturetaking...not my beautiful Ralph Lauren suit...LOL)

Hillary told the guards to get “the one in BLACK” out of there. They tried to remove TRUEBLACKMAN! He howled with indignation...he had done nothing and even purchased a book and waited for an hour in line. They gave up!

I figured out what was going on a few minutes later!

Signs urging “corrupt Dems turn here” at the corner of her street are among my favorites! MEMORIES!!

Oh boy what fun. I have only done one FReep of Hitlery, when she had her book signing in Cleveland a few years ago.

We were quite successful in that she was not able (chose not to) use the front door for a big entrance as we were there in force with signs. she had to sneak in & out the back door. She obviously didn’t want any press showing here being put down.

good luck DC Freepers. You Rock!

I’ll be on a DC field trip with some fifth graders Wednesday and Thursday. Does the DC chapter have anything going on in the vicinity (mall, monuments, etc...)?

Thanks,
jw

"Where: 11th and H St., NW"

This will be a nightmare for security and the public during rush hours. This butch has no consideration for others.

I’d have loved to have seen that incident at the bookstore!

And for your further amusement, heard a “piece” on my country station here in Philly about Her Heinous’ contest to determine her Presidential campaign slogan; the tie-in was that one of the choices is Shania Twain’s “We’re gonna rock this country.” So they played a “press conference” of HH introducing the other choices—including Elton John’s “The -itch is back”! Can’t remember the other 2 choices in the same vein but the skit concluded with her demanding to know who made the selections and turned out it was the Wannabe-First-Hubby.

Just viewed the setup. The back of the stage is towards H street. Bleachers currently on an angle towards 11th. Some covered area currently going up along 11th street.

Looks lovely.

Wonder if Hillary and her Club 44 worry about these women?

Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning & Engagement (CIRCLE),

I suppose that if they all got together to perform a retro 60's dance, it would be dubbed, "The CIRCLE Jerk?"

Kenny 'Babyface' Edmonds, ... and all the other amazing women

I admit I've never heard of Kenny Edmonds, but I've just been told that a singer known as "Babyface" is a HE. Will his "coming out" as one of the "amazing women" overshadow Hillary's event?

Hilarious interview of McPhee right here at DC's HOT 99.5.

For a virtual nobody, she sure takes herself seriously.
