OVERLAND PARK, Kan. A $10,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the safe return of 18-year-old Kelsey Smith, who was forced into her car at a Target store on Saturday.
"Every indication is, its been an abduction," Overland Park Police Chief John Douglas told FOX News on Tuesday. "So far, our best information is coming from the surveillance video."
Police viewed the footage Monday. The video shows Smith, of Overland Park, Kan., leaving the store around 7:10 p.m. She had put pac

Well said.
I've told my daughter the same time many times:
The abductor(s) never brings you somewhere better for you, they will always bring you somewhere that is better for them.
I imagine the people mowed down by that crack head the other day will be suffering the burden of horror, pain, anquish for some time thanks to a bad choice by her... her "free" choice btw.......
BTTT
Naah, not my style.
The guy on the tape doesn't look like the average seedy drifter-type that hangs around malls.
He appears to be clean-cut and nice looking, like the suburban boyfriend next door.
I will not be surprised if this is an affaire a troix gone wrong.

Not what it said. It said she was forced into "her" car.
The video taken of the parking lot incident was obviously, or most likely, taken subsequent to the video of the male exiting the store. It would be safe to say, the video of the male forcing her into her vehicle closely matches the description of the male exiting the store, making him a person of interest. A nice way of saying, "suspect".
You won’t find me to be much of a libertarian on the subject of drugs, though I am on pretty much all other counts. Liberty is about the freedom to make choices in one’s life, and addictive drugs (including alcohol) eliminate the user’s ability to freely make choices, leading many to do things they really don’t want to do and really hate themselves for doing, even while they’re doing them — and that makes such drugs completely incompatible with liberty. As for perverts and pornographers, any coercion or force or use of a minor should be a ticket to a permanent home in a cage, with full time hard labor if meals are desired. The worst should just be taken out with a single bullet.
Let’s hope this young woman’s abduction is something else. The choices are limited though. Given that she hasn’t turned up by now, even if it was a robbery scenario, i.e. the abductor planned to force her to go to an ATM and withdraw money or something along those lines, it must have gone wrong.
He doesn't appear to be a shopper either.
Note the person of interest exits the store empty handed. This would seem to indicate he did not go into the store to make a purchase.
No doubt this guy matches the description of the person that forced her into her vehicle.
Criminals come in all shapes and sizes, some neat and clean, some not.
And kids, you have to go to Police Chief school for many, many weeks to come to deductions like this. Don't try it without proper training.
It would be my bet they already know who the male person of interest is. He’s young, dressed very casual in shorts, apparently not smart enough to realize the CCTVs all over the place.
It does not make it clear, if after forced into her vehicle, if her vehicle exited the parking lot, only stating they located her vehicle across the street. This would indicate a vehicle transfer of the victim into another vehicle. Was she fighting at the transfer point? Were their witnesses? Did she voluntarily exit her vehicle and enter another vehicle. This would also indicate this was premeditated, or planned, if the suspect vehicle, or transfer vehicle was previously parked across the street.
My bet is the suspect is a local and is already been identified due to his age and dress. I would bet a cup of coffee he’s already under surveillance, or his where abouts are still being sought. It’s also likely the suspect possibly was not operating alone and was involved with one or more person. The transfer vehicle possibly had a driver waiting behind the wheel. Finally, I would suspect since this seems premeditated, not a random thing, the suspect has some kind of connection to the victim. Just speculation here.
And walked back home..

I know I dont need to tell you but, looks can be deceiving. It is the same thing I tell my daughters, looks mean nothing. Dont prejudge by race, age, or dress. Anyone in a public place, when you are alone, is a potential threat.

However, I'm looking at the odds. He doesn't look like a dirty old man, trailer-trash perv, a shopper or a mall-rat. He looks more her age and thusly may be really hormonal.
While a criminal can look like all of the above, a murderer is more than likely someone known to the victim or her family.
So, I'm guessing that it's someone she knows, maybe a stalking ex-boyfriend, maybe someone she blew off a day or two ago, whatever.
If it's a clean-looking stranger perp, I've done a lot of typing for nothing, LOL.
Leni
Maybe.
One bothersome aspect is the suspect reportedly sprinted up behind her and forced her into her vehicle. If the suspect knew the victim, he could have just walked up casually to her vehicle, talked small talk, and then forced her into the vehicle.
However, I still strongly suspect there is some kind of connection between the suspect and victim, and for some reason, given the suspects age, his casual attire, and lack of knowledge of the CCTVs, there very well could be someone else involved here with some kind of connection to the victim. One fact is clear here, the video suspect is obviously not a very smart or cunning criminal.
And I say video boy is the suspect due to the fact that if he were not, he would have come forward after seeing his photo plastered all over the country, local community, TV and Internet, and would have told everyone he was completely innocent. That didn't happen making video boy clearly the #1 suspect. There isn't a person in that town that is not aware of this event.
See last paragraph of #77. Clean cut video boy is clearly the #1 suspect. The question remains, is there a connection between video boy and the victim. I would suspect there is.
True, but he do look like you.
Good thing you were over 1000 miles away at that time...
