i have not read one person who said the raids were illegalI had two different FReepers tell me that the raids were an illegal intrusion upon the Legislature by the Executive because Jefferson's office is intimately tied to his legislative function.

I'm in his district and grudgingly went for him over his challenger in the runoff (a) expecting this to happen, and (b) the challenger was even more liberal than he. It was a lesser-of-two-evils/the-devil-you-know vs. the-devil-you-don't-know contest.
