Joe Scarborough offers his keen insight and classy analysis into today's political scene in an interview this morning with Congressional Quarterly's Craig Crawford. During the Morning Joe program on MS-NBC, Scarborough suggested that Fred Thompson's wife is a whore (via the Palmetto Scoop):
SCARBOROUGH: Have you seen Fred Thompsons wife? CRAWFORD: Oh, yeah.
SCARBOROUGH: You think she thinks she works the pole?
CRAWFORD: Thats what a Hollywood career will do for you, I guess.
SCARBOROUGH: What do you mean?
CRAWFORD: You get wives like that.
SCARBOROUGH: I mean, look at that guy. God bless him, I love his voice. But I mean, you know. He aint Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
CRAWFORD: Well I would like to see him back into politics because I think hes a lousy actor.

I admit, I didn't know until recently about Fred's wife and how young and flashy she is. The first time I saw the pictures, I kind of cringed and thought, "oh, heck, he's Hollywood." There is going to be an image problem to deal with. It's not so much "dirty old man" for me as "silly old fool" as the first reaction.
A hot babe that turns FR guys on enough to be snide about it ...not a Good Thing...
It's good that he's on good terms with his exes and his grown children. That's a plus. She's not a homewrecker. Another plus. If she has a winning personality, we've got it covered. If she's a twit, we're in for trouble.
The negative for me is the do-over family. I can sure get over that, but there's a lot of resentment out there that may impact. This will come from grown children of lousy dads, whose dads then remarry and "do it right this time" and are perfect, loving dads to their new tiny toddlers...who'll have no memory because the old guys die while they're in preschool.... May not be fair to Fred, but it'll be there.

Oh Dear. I am so sorry. I thought you were referring to the picture of Fred and Jeri, not Newt.
Please accept my apologies for my error.

The problem is with your inexplicable overly defensive hysterical attitude towards anyone who offers constructive feedback.
Oh, do please quote my words that support the above.

If you and the others want to misrepresent what Im saying and bash constructive feedback, be prepared to lose another election.I think that most of the misrepresentation on this thread is coming from those who rightly see FT as a serious threat to their RINO candidate. Anyone who wishes FT well in his venture would realize that they're making mountains out of molehills, and I don't mean that as a reference to Mrs. Thompson's physical assets.

They all look like he’s with his daughter.
Fine. But if he did not have towering height, and looks that aren’t exactly “chiseled”, you might not feel the same.
Which makes it about his looks than hers.
If he looked like Mitt will in a few years, you’d not give it a second thought.

Would you believe—one thing that bugs me about Mitt is that he’s so darned pretty. He should gain a little paunch or something.

If we're talking about marital fidelity and Christian marriage propriety, the shoe may very well be on the other foot as the majority of voting Americans see it.

Why shouldn't we look at his family situation, if he's a potential for our support? We have so many lousy choices, we're likely to jump first and think second when someone halfway decent comes along.
You do have a point--McCain always seems to get a pass.

The question is, whether Fred Thompson married a girl so young as to raise eyebrows?
The rule for the greatest allowable disparity half the mans age plus seven years .
They were married on June 29, 2002. Fred Thompson was born on August 9, 1942. On their marriage date, he was 59.9 years old.
Jeri Kehn was born in January 1967, she was 35.5 years old.
59.9 /2 = 29.45.
29.45 + 7 = 36.95
Verdict: Excessive Age Disparity.

Perhaps those who have already committed to another candidate might disapprove, but otherwise, not so much.

I think you hit the nail on the head. These people criticizing Jeri Thompson’s looks and her mode of dress are likely doing so because their own candidate’s wife isn’t so attractive... Jeri will steal the spotlight from them, and it will hurt the others, especially the RINOs.

More likely we’re so unhappy with the present crew of stooges that anyone would look good, and does. And boy is his wife hot.
