Scarborough Attacks Fred's Wife (Joe insults Fred's wife)
Captain's Quarters ^ | 6/4/07 | Ed Morrissey

Posted on 06/04/2007 11:30:41 AM PDT by teddyballgame

Joe Scarborough offers his keen insight and classy analysis into today's political scene in an interview this morning with Congressional Quarterly's Craig Crawford. During the Morning Joe program on MS-NBC, Scarborough suggested that Fred Thompson's wife is a whore (via the Palmetto Scoop):

SCARBOROUGH: Have you seen Fred Thompson’s wife? CRAWFORD: Oh, yeah.

SCARBOROUGH: You think she thinks she works the pole?

CRAWFORD: That’s what a Hollywood career will do for you, I guess.

SCARBOROUGH: What do you mean?

CRAWFORD: You get wives like that.

SCARBOROUGH: I mean, look at that guy. God bless him, I love his voice. But I mean, you know. He ain’t Robert Redford in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”

CRAWFORD: Well I would like to see him back into politics because I think he’s a lousy actor.

"OMG! It’s sleeveless! And it’s after Labor Day! /sarcasm"

Gosh! I said that and now I'm going to cause the Republicans to lose AGAIN!

This is just ridiculous. You are going to attack anyone offering an opinion different from your own. There is no need to insult me or others for voicing a concern. No wonder Republicans lose.

Please quote what you consider an “attack.”

My speculation on your motives is no attack, and you may feel free to correct me.

My comments are supported by referral to what you wrote:
“She doesn’t have to look like a nun but she can get some clothes where her boobs don’t hang out...How many women out there have their breasts hanging out for a job interview?”

She might be thinking of Mrs. McCain, who seems to always get a pass.

The photo in post 120 is distracting as has been demonstrated by the remarks on both sides. May have been ok pre presidential run but certainly not now. This second photo is better in several respects. Tasteful, classic, enhances the youthful attractiveness of Mrs. Thompson and gives an overall favorable impression of a confident wife and mother. First impressions are lasting impressions so Fred’s campaign had best get the most favorable image of Fred and his wife and family out there asap before his opposition beats them to it with their own favorites. I currently favor FT and offer this opinion as a friendly critique.

The man in me says “good job Fred”..the Dad in me says...dude..wtf?!

May I pose the same back to you: “Dude, WTF?!”

So you’re in your 50s, and you find yourself in mutual love with a gorgeous 30-something lawyer. Do you shoo her away because people will think it is “DIRTY” to adore a beautiful woman who is physically old enough to be a grandmother?

Come on. If you really believe that, you are on the statistically irrelevant fringe.

The only meaningful sector who cares are the feminazis and leftists who hate female beauty. They smeared Katherine Harris as “Cruella” too.

It's people like you who find fault in a candidate's beautiful young wife.

Nooooo, I merely pointed out something which is a potential problem. A few of you have mysteriously overreacted like I ran over your dog or insulted your mother.

What the heck has that got to do with the campaign, really?

I've already explained it to you. If you and the others want to misrepresent what I'm saying and bash constructive feedback, be prepared to lose another election.

And you pointed it out persistently. 14 times so far on this thread.

When your posts are among the scant evidence that she will present a problem to the campaign, while all other evidence is that she will be a great asset.

There’s nothing wrong with what I wrote. The problem is with your inexplicable overly defensive hysterical attitude towards anyone who offers constructive feedback.

The problem is you, not us.

And then she’ll vote for Hillary. Right.

Oops, I forgot, this is the Mitt campaign speaking, so you are talking about the primary, right?

If she comments differently about "that Thompson man and that young wife of his", I'd be surprised, but like Juaquin Andujar said about baseball,"Ya' never know".

No, she will never vote for Hillary or any other democrat. She will vote for whomever the Republicans' nominate. Even "that Fred with the young wife" over Hillary.

Not sure who she prefers in the primary - too early to get excited just yet.

Okay, fine. Let’s see how she dresses NOW since her husband is a candidate. Pictures taken from two years ago are off the table.

She was dressed way down at the Virginia speech Saturday.

I don't disagree, but I also think that it will be hard to conceal Mrs. Thompson's natural beauty. I also suspect that Mr. Thompson is happy with her just as she is.

I see love there, which to me is a wonderful thing.

Well, not if she gets out there and is *adorable.* That's really what I'd like to see happen, and really what I'm pushing for--get out there, dear, and sell your Personality. Be sweet. Be kind. Be interesting. Don't rely on cleavage, which will only get FR men to want to hit on you. Not all voters are men. Win over the older ladies.

EXACTLY. Why is this so hard to understand?

An old pervert? What is perverted about a beautiful 40 year old woman who is the mother of your 2 children? Good for Fred, he’s 6’6” rich famous and powerful, he may even have a good personality.

Was Lorie Klausutis, the dead assistant found in Scarborough’s office pregnant?
Did Scarborough ever provide a DNA sample to the ME? Was the circumstance ever treated as more than an “incident”; was a criminal investigation conducted.
Has it become general knowledge that the Medical Examiner who performed the autopsy had been asked to leave from his previous appointment for displaying less than acceptable competence?
Did Scarborough, a close friend of Gary Condit and
dead intern Chandra Levy ever socialize with either of the deceased as part of a “multi date”?

How often does Scarborough attend gentlemen’s clubs where he partakes of the scantily clad or nude female company for recompense.

“That pole remark was out of line.”

It was more than “out of line”. The remark displays a complete lack of class, it was absolutely disgusting.
