Ice Age Ends Smashingly: Did a comet blow up over eastern Canada?
Sid Perkins
Evidence unearthed at more than two dozen sites across North America suggests that an extraterrestrial object exploded in Earth's atmosphere above Canada about 12,900 years ago, just as the climate was warming at the end of the last ice age. The explosion sparked immense wildfires, devastated North America's ecosystems and prehistoric cultures, and triggered a millennium-long cold spell, scientists say.
IT'S IN THERE. A layer of carbon-rich sediment (arrow) found here at Murray Springs, Ariz., and elsewhere across North America, provides evidence that an extraterrestrial object blew up over Canada 12,900 years ago. The hallmarks include lumps of glasslike carbon (top), carbon spherules (middle, in cross section), and magnetic grains rich in iridium (bottom). West; (middle inset): Cannon Microprobe
At sites stretching from California to the Carolinas and as far north as Alberta and Saskatchewanmany of which were home to prehistoric people of the Clovis cultureresearchers have long noted an enigmatic layer of carbon-rich sediment that was laid down nearly 13 millennia ago. "Clovis artifacts are never found above this black mat," says Allen West, a geophysicist with Geoscience Consulting in Dewey, Ariz. The layer, typically a few millimeters thick, lies between older, underlying strata that are chock-full of mammoth bones and younger, fossilfree sediments immediately above, he notes.
New analyses of samples taken from 26 of those sites reveal several hallmarks of an extraterrestrial object's impact, West and his colleagues reported at the spring meeting of the American Geophysical Union in Acapulco, Mexico.
Samples from the base of the black mat yield most of the clues to its extraterrestrial origin, says Richard B. Firestone, West's coworker and a nuclear physicist at the Lawrence Berkeley (Calif.)

Are you serious about this, or was it a tongue-in-cheek post?
Why would a comet suddenly explode just before impact?”
Suicide Comet???
Damn, that does make sense.
It was J M Adovasio who said that the glacial edge (during the Ice Age) was just north of Meadowcroft that has been dated to at least 16,000 year ago...And, the Topper Site in South Carolina may be as old as 50k. Why would these people hang around in this arctic climate (necessary to create the circles) when they could go to balmy Florida? Maybe it wasn't cold enough there to make the Carolina Bays that way, huh?
The earth atmosphere is very thick, when considering the speed of these objects and the energy they are spilling off.
It's reason Engineers use the term: "Breakup upon reentry"
After all, the “collective memory” of Neanderthals (ugly, hulking brutes, some larger than humans, found in caves, underground and “backwoods” resembles the ogres, dwarfs and giants of mythology.
Also: Dinosaur bones, dinosaur tracks, and T Rex and raptor skulls certainly explain the worldwide similarly and descriptions of dragons in all cultures.
Why are the circles elliptical and oriented in a direction?
Angle of impact.
A 90 degree fall (head on / straight in) makes a perfectly round crater.
A 45 degree angle (glancing blow / side swipe) makes a perfect ellipse.
or a hot fudge sundae /obscure
I read that the Chixlub meteorite entered at about a 35 degree angle coming from the south. I wouldn’t have wanted to be in North America 65 million years ago when it hit.
That seems like one of the biggest problems with this theory. The genetic evidence does not show all of North America being repopulated from a small group of survivors of a catrastrophic event.
Large teeth tend to splay out if the upper jaw is "smaller". This results in the lower teeth achieving a crooked alignment.
Best bet is to restrict breeding to those with larger upper jaws.
Prognathism is no guide to jaw size though ~ just to its position vis a vis the skull.
Here's Winston Churchill's denture:
While a student he went to Lapland to run around, eat the food, live the life for something like 6 months! It's worth reading about his health and that of his father to make you wonder if he/they weren't suffering from being forced to eat a Western diet rather than the high iron reindeer and seal for which they might have been designed.
Linnaeus did the same thing on a grant ~ went to Lapland to study plants and animals.
I think you asked if there were any figures on Sa'ami native intelligence ~ depends on who you count as a Sa'ami. Can't find the diminutive Norwegian Sa'ami in Churchill's woodpile, but I suspect he's there ~ his brand of heart trouble with repeated "attacks" is fairly typical of what you can find among those who inherited one of the genes for Scandinavian porphyria. His father's health problems are certainly typical.
The bottleneck only works numerically. A global striation of life depletion with some vast areas completely blanked out of zoological species above a certain weight range.

Gods, Graves, Glyphs (alpha order)
Rapid heating caused by friction with the atmosphere. Very common for "falling rocks".
Earth In Upheaval

Peculiar elliptical depressions, or “oval craters,” locally called “bays” are thickly scattered over the Carolina coast of the United States and more sparsely over the entire Atlantic coastal plain from southern New Jersey to northeastern Florida. These marshy depressions are numbered in the tens of thousands and, according to the latest estimate, their number may reach half a million. Measurements made on the more prominent ones, seaward from Darlington, show that the larger bays average 2200 feet in length, and in single cases exceed 8000 feet...
(here I go, Google Earth again!)
Freeze Thaw cycles typically produce forms that are hexagonal in shape, not elliptical. I can’t say what these elliptical shapes are, but they do not look like anything formed by freeze thaw.
