NEW YORK - Three people were arrested and one other was being sought Saturday in connection to a plan to set off explosives in a fuel line that feeds John F. Kennedy International Airport and runs through residential neighborhoods, officials close to the investigation said.
The plot, which never got past the planning stages, did not involve airplanes or passenger terminals, according to the two officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because details of the arrests had not yet been announced.
Details were to be given out at a 1 p.m. news conference.
The pipeline takes fuel from a facility in Linden, N.J., to the airport. Other lines service LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport.
The arrests mark the latest in a series of alleged homegrown terrorism plots targeting high-profile American landmarks.
A year ago, seven men were arrested in what officials called the early stages of a plot to blow up the Sears Tower in Chicago and destroy FBI offices and other buildings.
A month later, authorities broke up a plot to bomb underwater New York City train tunnels to flood lower Manhattan.
And six people were arrested a month ago in an alleged plot to unleash a bloody rampage on Fort Dix in New Jersey.

It will be interesting to see who these folks are and where they came from....did you catch how they called them the latest ‘homegrown’ terrorists referencing back the Fort Dix men. I wouldn’t have exactly called those men ‘homegrown’ and I’ll bet these aren’t either.
The Fort Dix one involved ILLEGALS.

The planning, which began last summer, involved four men, and targeted fuel tanks and pipelines at the airport, law enforcement sources said.
It did not target airplane flights, they said.
The goal was to set off explosives in a fuel line that feeds the airport and also runs through residential neighborhoods, The Associated Press reported, quoting officials close to the investigation.
An official described the suspects as "al Qaeda wannabes."
One suspect, a U.S. citizen who is a native of Guyana and who once worked at the airport, was described by a source as "a very angry Muslim extremist."
Another suspect is a former member of parliament in Guyana, several law enforcement officials said.
The plot was revealed when the planners tried to recruit help from someone who was a law enforcement informant, sources said.
Rep. Peter King, R-New York, said law enforcement had had the plot "under control" for some time.
Another law enforcement official said the plot was never "fully operational."
The FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force have called a news conference for 1 p.m. to provide details of the arrests and an indictment.

I live in New Jersey. Everybody always talks about Mexican illegals. But we have plenty of Muslim/Arab illegals here in New Jersey.
This amnesty bill is going to give all sort of new “rights” to terrorist and terrorist-sympathesizing Muslim illegals.
And, if another 9/11 happens, and the plot involves illegals, Bush/McCain/Kennedy and every other politician that voted for the bill... they will have blood on their hands for derelecting their duty to defend our nation’s borders.

It’s a matter of WHEN the next 9/11 happens..I say that the present herd of politicians are all NOT protecting me , theyare playing politics..Most need to be removed for office..I say anyone gets hurt the next time we pull a citizens class action suit against the government..Im not kidding
