I suppose the idea that the owners of e-harmony may do as they please with their own website and service is out of the question.

That Kali lesi sure picked the wrong ‘dating’ service to sue - she might just win and then be ordered to date the results eHormony provides.

IMHO, dating predictions derived from chicken entrails ala the Roman way may give results better than eHarmony gave me. Fortunately, I tried them on a “special deal” and the assorted, sordid pack of canids they provided was worth the money. Fer laughs, Ya know?

Why tarnish their image with ads for fags? It would undermine their credibility as a serious way to meet a future husband or wife. There’s nothing sillier that two people of the same gender having sex. The fact they have this attraction is their problem. We should insist it not become our problem as much as we can. I hope eHarmony fights back with tooth and tong and sues for punitive damages and for suffering at the hand of the Gaystapo.

I dont have a need for the website, but I believe its eharmony’s right for freedom of association to make it a heterosexual only dating site.

I am ticked off that the gay sites don’t offer anything for straight folks. I am going to sue all of them!

And they stole the damn rainbow! My neighbors have this nice rainbow wind thing. They are gay.

This reminds me of a funny story. A coworker of mine despite canceling her service with E-Harmony, kept getting charged for it on her credit card. She contacted the company and they asked her to send them a fax with the details and copy of the charges and they will reimburse her immediately. So she went ahead and typed the letter, gave all the details, name, user name, etc and clicked print. She was in a rush and forgot to select the proper network printer and alas, her letter printed, of all places, in the IT department. That’s right, Geekland got her letter. Least to say she was mortified. So I've been teasing her by telling her that she should not be surprised if one of our local geeks calls her, identifies himself by his E-Harmony user name and ask her out for a date. And I swear I think I hear snickering whenever she passes one of them on the hallways. :)

"eHarmony "has long rankled the gay community with its failure to offer a 'men seeking men' or 'women seeking women' option."

Why would any reputable company want to offer rubbish like that? It would only attract the wrong sort. Perversions don't serve any constructive purpose, so eHarmony would probably prefer to not deal in them. It's their call, and a good one.

eHarmony "has long rankled the gay community with its failure to offer a 'men seeking men' or 'women seeking women' option."

I'm sure the policy comes straight (no pun intended) from their legal department. They'd surely get sued by every pervert who contracted AIDS from a fellow perv he "met" there.

“The Gay Lobby Takes on eHarmony”

Well, eHarmony’s founder wanted to distance himself from the guy
who gave him tons of free publicity (Dr. Dobson of “Focus On The Family”)
in the early days of eHarmony.

CONGRATULATIONS Mr. Warren, you’ll get to meet your new friends in court!
I guess Warren will just be happy he won’t have to associate with
guys like Dr. Dobson anymore.

(When Warren’s brush-off of “Focus on The Family” went public,
Dobson gave a very gracious and classy announcement about the situation)

Here’s a link to and excerpt of story about
Neil Clark “Use ‘Em and Lose ‘Em” Warren
and his distancing from Dobson:

http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2005-05-18-eharmony_x.htm

(snip)
A psychologist with a divinity degree, Warren has emerged from the
Christian community — three of his 10 books on love and dating were
published by conservative Focus on the Family — to become one of the
Internet’s most unlikely entrepreneurs.

(snip)

Warren is trying to distance himself from Focus on the Family
and its founder James Dobson, a longtime friend.

Warren says he will no longer appear on Dobson’s radio show,
and he recently bought back the rights to the three books Focus on
the Family published

(snip)

“We’re trying to reach the whole world — people of all spiritual
orientations, all political philosophies, all racial backgrounds,”
Warren says. “And if indeed, we have Focus on the Family on the top of
our books, it is a killer.

This is getting scary. So now a commercial enterprise has to be compelled to cater to a given sexual orientation? Next thing y’know, they’ll be suing Cowboy bars for not having a Gaydies Night.

from the article:

Could you imagine the outcry from gays if someone tried to force a gay website to provide dating services for heterosexuals? Or a religious group that promotes heterosexual marriage demanding a float in a gay pride parade?

...People are different. Not every business wants to or is capable of serving every person, and whom a business chooses to serve is its private decision.

The biggest problem with gay activism is that they want to be treated as special or as victims when it suits them, and as "just like anybody else" when it suits them.

Actually, there are some good ideas here. Some hetero sites should mount a class-action suit against gay dating sites and demand hetero matching.

I sincerely hope somebody at eHarmony replied, “It is our F’ing business and we will run it however we damn well see fit. Matchmaking is hardly a necessity.”
