NEW YORK -- According to NewsChannel4's Jonathan Dienst, sources said federal investigators have made arrests in an alleged terror plot on Kennedy Airport.
Law enforcement officials said the plot may involved a former airport worker.
A press conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. this afternoon.
FYI! There is an active Islamic terrorist group in Trinidad. Re:Guayana mentioned- it too has an active element.
Tell that to the other poster. He thinks futures speculators only drive prices up, he just can't explain how.
I beleive they were going to blow up the airport fuel tanks and fuel lines.
But John Edwards said there is no global war on terror and its only a bumper sticker.
But how much of what they report is true?
Yes, terrorism makes people worry about the future availability of oil.
Are Saturday afternoon hard news press conferences usually a good idea?
Maybe they knew the owner and knew it was nothing.
The Associated Press is reporting that three people are arrested and one other is being sought in a plot to blow up John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Sources say the plot, which never got passed the planning stage, involved a plan to set off explosives in a jet fuel pipeline that feeds through the airport and runs through residential neighborhoods.
Law enforcement officials say that one of the men involved is a former airport worker from Guyana. Sources say the man was arrested last night.
Sources say he recruited an FBI informant to help plan the attack. He reportedly met with a radical group in Trinidad, where other arrests have been made in the case.
Sources also say the reason the arrests took place at this time was because the suspects had plans to travel.
Details on the foiled attack will be given at a 1 p.m. news conference.
What’s wrong with Saturdays?
Legal or Illegal...lots of immigrants do nasty things. See this and weep:

They very possibly knew it was there and did not want to go into the reason it was still on the table - such as - the passenger was putting on his shoes or speaking with another agent, etc.
True.
Seems to me that a summer Saturday is relatively a quiet time when it comes to news.
I guess Jim Jones missed a few, huh?
I apologize if this a duplicate post, but breaking on BBC:

Arrests in NY airport ‘bomb plot’
Three people have been arrested in connection with an alleged plan to bomb John F Kennedy airport in New York, reports from the United States say.
Ground operations, not airplanes or passenger terminals, were to have been targeted, reports say.
The alleged plot against one of the busiest airports in the US is said not to have gone beyond planning stages.
One person was arrested in New York and the other two in a Caribbean country, CNN reported, citing official sources.
“There is no threat to air safety or the public related to this plot,” said FBI spokesman Richard Kolko in Washington.
A pipeline carrying jet fuel was to have been targeted, WNBC television in New York said.
Involvement by more Swedish Lutherans! >end sarcasm
“Let’s spend all our money on a border fence and ignore the fact that super-badguys will always get in, and are already here legally anyway.”
FALLACIES -
It won’t take ALL our money to build a fence.
It will keep out millions who sap public services and tax revenue.
It will keep out drug smugglers and narco gangs.
It will keep out many violent street criminals.
It will keep out future Dem voters.
It will keep out anchor baby laying mamasitas.
It will keep out TB and who knows what else.
It will keep out people who don’t respect our laws but demand a political voice.
It will keep out people who have no intention of assimilating.
Sort of like another fuel line explosion in a TWA Jet that just took off from Kennedy.
Boy, those Smith’s and Jone’s are really causing trouble! What? It wasn’t a Smith or Jones? His name was Mohamed? Get out of here!
