Peggy Noonan and The WSJ Editorial - It's Time to Revolt!
Red State ^ | June 1, 2007

Posted on 06/01/2007 5:41:16 PM PDT by Clintonfatigued

However, now I do not feel alone. Peggy Noonan has a new column up in the Wall Street Journal Opinion Journal. She has clearly said what has been getting me down. I think I knew what was up, but couldn't put a finger on it. I knew it centered around the immigration debate, and the way our congressional leaders are behaving. That sentiment especially includes Mr. Bush too, but when I read this column, I felt like Charlie Brown yelling at Lucy at her Psychology booth when he yells, "That's it!" when trying to identify why he can't get into the Christmas spirit.

Try this clip on for size :

The White House doesn't need its traditional supporters anymore, because its problems are way beyond being solved by the base. And the people in the administration don't even much like the base. Desperate straits have left them liberated, and they are acting out their disdain. Leading Democrats often think their base is slightly mad but at least their heart is in the right place. This White House thinks its base is stupid and that its heart is in the wrong place.

For almost three years, arguably longer, conservative Bush supporters have felt like sufferers of battered wife syndrome. You don't like endless gushing spending, the kind that assumes a high and unstoppable affluence will always exist, and the tax receipts will always flow in? Too bad! You don't like expanding governmental authority and power? Too bad. You think the war was wrong or is wrong? Too bad.

But on immigration it has changed from "Too bad" to "You're bad."

The president has taken to suggesting that opponents of his immigration bill are unpatriotic--they "don't want to do what's right for America." His ally Sen. Lindsey Graham has said,

Fred Thompson is a member of Rockefeller’s Council on Foreign Relations (for what it’s worth).

This is difference of opinion he is referring too, and not saying that you are UNPATRIOTIC! It is unreal what is going on with you Bush haters, just unreal.

So, Bush says I don't want to do what's right for America, and he is just expressing a "difference of opinion."

But when I express a difference of opinion by taking exception to his assertion about my not wanting to do what's right for America, I am a "Bush hater."

Unreal is right.

Fred Barnes said Senator Mitch McConnel was the person that started this whole thing not President Bush.

We have those laws already. They aren’t being enforced. Why the hell should anybody believe new, redundant laws will be enforced?

Peggy isn’t speaking ill of another conservative. She’s speaking ill of Bush.

Oh please. You people are going form one thread to another spreading your hate message against the President. Are you seriously comparing the hateful and angry rhetoric by you and many other on FR against President Bush with what President Bush said about people who are against the illegal immigration bill? Get real.

Not hardly. The President can issue pardons, and he could issue general clemency for all persons guilty of illegal entry and for all illegal immigrants guilty of anything, but that alone wouldn’t give the illegals such rewards as law now prohibits. And the President cannot issue executive orders that contradict any Act of Congress.

“You guys have so much hate for President Bush that is you are living in a parallel universe where you see only evil coming from his mouth even when he says ‘Hello’.”

Generally one who loves THEIR country reserves strong words for an elected official that consorts to compromise one’s country and it’s sovereignty — in the interest of a foreign power.

The aforementioned actions of such an official may even be considered TRAITOROUS if not ignoble — at the best.

So that is what you want. Impeach the President in times of war and give the terrorists their ultimate victory and make the democrats so very happy. Yep, you are a real Patriot (sarcasm beyond belief).

We should lay the cards on the table and just admit that GHWBush and GWBush are both Freemasons and Skull and Bonesmen. Bill Clinton and Al Gore were also involved with the Freemasons in that they were in Demolay (Masonic youth organization.) Bob Dole is a Mason, John Kerry is a Bonesman, and obviously, Hillary Clinton is acceptable to the Masons because her husband is in with them. So obviously, they have selected her to assume the mantle of power with the help of the Bush’s etc.

He (GWB) is probably not even making any decisions; the One World Government is making the decisions. In the early 1990’s, the slogan “act locally, think globally” was started. Who started that saying? Where did it come from? Why is this whole world being globalized right now? Who is doing this? Why is it happening simultaneously in Europe with the muzzies, the United States of America with the Mexicans, and Australia with mooselimbs and Asians? The One World Government is getting rid of nationalism and creating a new world order of 1% of the people being super rich and 99% of the people being peasants at each others throats fighting for scraps.

Says the slave to the free man.

Your loyalty to a false man who has forsaken his duties to The People of The United States of America by not enforcing the laws of the land that he has sworn to uphold is sickening.

He believes that foreign nationals have a right to be in a foreign nation and no matter what The People say, He’s right The People are wrong.

Cry a river of tears, for it has made the swamp that D.C is what it is.

Seems to be similar sentiment in my household too!

Tony Snow has become such a blind suck-up on the illegal immigration issue....

The whole bunch at the White House have lost their compass.

Was Reagan a traitor for signing the 1986 amnesty bill? Neither President Bush and nor President Reagan before him gave an iota of our sovereignty to any foreign nation, stop your lies. Use these stupid rhetoric with low IQ UNPATRIOTIC people who are so many of them days on FR but do not use on it with me.

Just like Laura Ingraham nailed it in her interview of Linda Chavez this morning,

Omigod. Talk about a nasty snarky mean-spirited woman. Chavez should go home, take a few Midol, or Prozac, or something, and wait for the storm to dissipate. IIRC she was the one who got busted from her fancy Washington job because she was colluding with illegals herself. Guess she's not bitter. A real George Bush kind of American, that one is.

..PghBaldy, I think a lot of those who used to be called "Reagan Democrats" have felt abandoned by their party.

Believe me there are many in the other party who feel like they have been left holding an empty bag.

Duncan Hunter, in several speeches, expresses his desire to reach out to that faction of Democrats, with their concerns about good American jobs being lost to outsourcing overseas--give Mr. Hunter a look...
