RNC Fires Phone Solicitors [former donors outraged over amnesty]

There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call "amnesty" for illegal aliens. "Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.

A most excellent response, my dear Verloona.

I got the same solicitation letter from the RNC. My reply went off in yesterday's mail with my bold black magic marker remarks plastered all over it. I think you were nicer than I in your response.

I didn't even put my own postage stamp on the envelope which I usually do.....so you can tell how ticked off I was and still am.

I did write NO AMNESTY on the inside of the envelope in red magic marker-that was a mistake, as they may see that before they open it, and hence will not even bother to open it. (And whatever you wrote, it had to have been nicer than the scorcher of a rough draft that I forced myself to tone down. :-))

Excellent posts. Neverhillorat has no positive suggestions, just juvenille comments. Other FReepers appreciate real suggestions, like the ones you offered.

Thank you for the compliments Blowtorch, I appreciate it. {I think I'm going to refine some of my ideas and post them to my blog... I just wish I could get the ideas in front of some of our Congressmen/women.}

I agree with your comment about NeverHillorat as well... It's frustrating when people believe it's a moot point to discuss this topic without offering some kind of amnesty. Amnesty goes against EVERYTHING America stands for -- Freedom WITH Personal Responsibility.

Well, I just hope those young troopers have a country to come back to...If amnesty passes, I am inclined to think they will not, frankly. :-( We cannot absorb and assimilate a deluge of people , mostly from a country with a long and rancorous history with the US, when those people may be twice-three times-who knows how much larger-than the crowd of illegals we already have (if a large percentage of those already here send for their families.) And I agree that the Democrats have a long, shameful history of disrespecting the military (look at the way the Clintons treated servicemen) and that was definitely part of why I happily voted for GWB in 2000. But given that so many servicemen and servicewomen ARE patriotic, conservative, respecters of the Constitution, I expect they are at LEAST as disgusted with GWB’s incessant push for amnesty as are we on this thread. (I know my father became extremely disillusioned with GWB after about 2003 or thereabouts. )

Oh, and how many illegals DO we already have? I’ve seen estimates ranging from 12 million-20 million-to 50+ million. Whatever it is, just imagine if 1/4 send for their spouses and 2-4 children. I’ve seen my once-quiet little MO town become a Third World sewer just over the last few years, but I expect it can get even worse.

Let see...I believe Reagan thought it was 3 million and it was actually 6 million. I would say over 20 million myself. If Washington says it’s 12 million,it’s at least double that. Then they will bring families as well.

Gosh, the comments I heard while living in West Denver were so atrocious... Once while grocery shopping I let my daughter (12 at the time) go and browse through the Magazines while I shopped in that section of the store. She came and found me about 5-10 minutes later — crying — saying that some boys were bothering her saying things like, “We hate white people”, and “Why are you in OUR neighborhood”, etc... The racism displayed by a large number of people I interacted with while living and working in that neighborhood was astounding. I had never experienced that type of racism before in my life (not even from the other minorities I’ve interacted with). The only other time I experienced racism was in college when I worked on an English project with an African-American woman whom I got along with famously. We were walking down the hall one day and met up with a group of her friends. She introduced me to them and they just pretended like I wasn’t there, not even a hi, or hello or acknowledgement that she had introduced me. She apologized profusely for their action (in front of them), and I took leave of the situation — that was a lot easier to deal with than the outright hostility displayed in Denver...

My own sister is Half-Mexican (we’re adopted), so this is not a matter of bigotry for me — it’s a shame I have to qualify myself like this, but our politicians seem to believe anyone who points out some of the cultural problems are prejudiced against all Latinos/Hispanics/Mexicans, etc...

I didn’t wait for them to call me. I called them first.

Got a number? I'd love for them to call me but if they don't, I'll call them.

Ain't skeered!!!

I started passing along my dissatisfaction to the RNC/GOP fundraisers about 2 years ago.

Same here, but it really intensified when they "covered up" for a pedophile and became the "Party of Corruption" in '06.

"We write these comments up from each call, and give them to a supervisor who passes them on to the finance director or the national chairman," he said. "But when I talked with the White House, the people there told me they got nothing but positive comments on the president's immigration stand."

Huh???? Is he saying that the "quotes from callers" that the RNC chooses to pass on to the White House contains "nothing but positive comments"? If so, then SHAME ON THEM!

OTOH if he's saying that the White House's own phone banks are getting nothing but positive comments from callers regarding the Amnesty Bill, then SHAME ON US! Where's that White House phone number, people?

So at least 20 million, plus at least , say, 8 million on top of that, many of whom (to judge by what’s taught in Mexican textbooks, and according to Mexican opinion polls-all posted to FR) are full of hatred for Americans, especially white Americans. This is like watching a horror film without a remote to shut it off. I’ve never felt so angry or helpless in my life, not even during the worst of the WJC regime. And GWB’s now-obvious contempt for us, with his accusations of xenophobia coupled with his incessant “jobs Americans aren’t doing” mantra-!

It’s nothing to do with being spanish. I have known Indian guys (India) to be very disrespectful towards women when I was in lab with them during college. There was a post where some young guy from somewhere in Mexico admitted to sleeping with a 12 year old-he was being interviewed and said you must understand we think we can sleep with a woman if they determine by her dress or whatver that she wants it. He said this is how it is in my culture. This kid is a future rapist, and he is in this country sleeping with a 12 year old.

If the GOP must suffer another huge loss due to their “liberal light” policys, I really don’t care. Let the dims take all the blame for what will happen to America. I’m sick of voting for a Repuglican just because I can’t stand the demos.

I will continue to vote for a Republican if there are any decent conservatives running - otherwise my loyalty is to conservative policy - not to the GOP!

I wonder if the volume was turned down a bit and both sides tried to work this out, something couldn`t be created to solve this issue.
I know that just saying NO to everything is really granting the illegals AMNESTY. See, amnesty means having no penalty for illegal acts. That`s what is happening now in the real world. Different way to look at things, huh?
