Oh yeah, take a look at exactly how “peaceful the world was before the creation of the United States of America.
Chapter 12
22. Hence the enlightened ruler is heedful,
and the good general full of caution. This is the way
to keep a country at peace and an army intact.
Sun tzu, The Art of War
“How many words mean deranged”?
Main Entry: deranged
Part of Speech: adjective
Definition: insane
Synonyms: ape*, bananas*, berserk, cracked*, crazed, crazy, delirious, demented, disarranged, disconcerted, disordered, displaced, distracted, flipped*, flipped out*, frantic, frenzied, fried*, irrational, loco*, lunatic, mad, maddened, maniac, nuts*, perplexed, unbalanced, unglued*, unhinged*, unscrewed*, unsettled, unsound, unzipped*, whacko*
Good find. Maybe the cavemen started it by keeping a pile of stones and clubs handy?
They can rate me last after I'm finished with them.

Hard to believe, but old Sun Tzu’s writings are still being folllowed 2500 years after his passing from history. Read some of them, they are fascinating!.........
I also note that their stating in this “study” of our “high casualty rates” reeks of more slander, bias, and agenda. We have not even crossed the number of deaths from D-Day (Normandy) in 6 years of actively defending ourselves from islamofascism.
Oh, the delusions, lies, and hate from the leftist dhimmis knows no bounds.
Norway is the most peaceful nation....I see. So the U.S. must be more like Norway? How does Norway rate in the fight against Islamic terrorism? When the throat slitters come, Norway will convert to Islam rather easily I suppose?
This just shows the world is full of idiots.
With a military of about 40K (including civilians) obviously they must rely on others (U.S.) for national defense. If the west depended on Norway to protect our way of life over the last century........
Excellent question, to which the answers are yes and yes.
What does [the US prison population] have to do with war?
As much as our high percentage of Britney Spears fans and Marlboro smokers, both of which this peace index unaccountably omitted.
More and more, I have to do a double take and make sure that real news items (like this one) are not satire.
There are two possibilities.
1. A Communist world (least likely since NAZI Germany would have handily defeated the UK and the USSR as there would be no help from the USA).
2. A NAZI/IJ/Italian/Islamic Axis world. I add Islamic to the mix as they sided happily with the NAZIs and still do. “Mein Kampf” is a best seller in the Islamic World. I have little doubt the Western Left would see anything wrong with it if they read it also (hence my tagline). Islamofascism also borrows heavily from NAZIism or maybe vice versa.
The plausible “world without America” outcome is #2. It would not be a world at “peace” as the AXIS would collapse into a IJ vs Germany/Italy feud with Islam picking up the pieces.

Thus a world without the USA would look like this in the end:
Every country has a military. Not every country has to use it if somebody else is protecting them.
Peace is living free from threat, not absence of conflict. You could be under a very threatening world dictator in a very un-peaceful society, but there is an absence of conflict because the dictator is so harsh that no one has a chance to fight.
Iraq attacked us?
True, Iraq did attack and invade Kuwait, and that was addressed more than a decade ago.
It is also true that Saddam frustrated weapons inspectors to the point that they left Iraq. It is also true that Saddam let the inspectors back into Iraq during the run up to the war.
And then there is the flypaper strategy - attract our enemies to Iraq so we can fight them there, not here. Not very peaceful or liberating from an Iraqi's perspective, I'm sure.

Asia apparently didn't’t need WMD for massive casualties.
I see your point. I doubt the people in New York City during the Civil War felt they were living in peaceful times.
The point is that a high percentage of our population behind bars relative to other countries could indicate that we are a exceptionally criminal people, or that we have more ways to run afoul of the law. If we define more behaviors by law as criminal, then perhaps we're not as free as we think.
