"I see so many conversions," said Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo, an advocate of strict immigration controls, at a Republican presidential debate in South Carolina earlier this month. Last year, Tancredo called Brownback "an extreme opponent of getting tough on illegal immigration."

“’’We’ve been through immigration debates in this country, and they can bring out the worst, sometimes, in people,’’ President Bush said at a press conference on Thursday.
``We’re a land of immigrants. . . . Sure, politics will get involved. But the question is, will members of Congress rise above politics?’’
We are a land of LEGAL immigrants Bush, you stuttering, stammering moron!!!!
Tancredo 2008 ping.
This illegal alien immigration POS bill has forced us all to see bush for what he is. You described him well.
If we can turn Brownback against this bill, I might even consider him as ‘acceptable’ for president.

I take no joy in it. I left my beloved California after 30 years because of people like Bush. No more RINOS!!
I’m still in California. it is getting ridiculous.
“Im still in California. it is getting ridiculous”
I sincerely feel for you!
Bush stance on immigration ... his reckless spending (medicare Rx, spending) ... is going to cost the repubs. big in 2008. Sorry to say but I think the repubs are going to get crushed across the board in 2008 (the base may vote but won’t be out helping campaigns in huge numbers ... like in 2004 ... and the blue hairs and RINOs aren’t the backbone of the get out the vote effort).
2008 Voting options: which democrat (even if they have a different political label) should I vote for?
This issue brought out the worst in him and Ted Kennedy (far easier) with this disaster of a bill. It’s the worst plan since Hillary’s healthcare bill circa 1993.
On Gun Control:
I fully and completely support the right of the people to keep and bear arms. The failure of the ACLU to defend this right, and of federal courts to make the second amendment binding on the states, as they have made the first amendment and most others, testifies to their intellectual hypocrisy.
