The inspector general for Homeland Security late Friday released new details of what federal air marshals say was a terrorist dry run aboard Northwest Airlines Flight 327 from Detroit to Los Angeles on June 29, 2004. Several portions of the report remain redacted. The release stems from a Freedom of Information request by The Washington Times in April 2006. The Times first reported on July 22 that this and other probes and dry runs were occurring on commercial flights since the September 11 terrorist attacks. Look for the full report in Wednesday's edition of The Times. Excerpts fom 51-page inspector general report: On the flight, 13 Middle Eastern men behaved in a suspicious manner that aroused the attention and concern of the flight attendants, passengers, air marshals and pilots.

I’d blame the terrorists. You cannot prevent 100% of terrorist acts. Israel tries, but cannot. Russia tries, but cannot. No matter how good your security is, it is still devised by man, and a man can figure out a way around it.......

Remember criticizm of the passenger who was characterized as “hysterical” for reporting the odd behaviour of the group?

All too true, they are so narrow minded. It is like tunnel vision for life.

but it just annoys the hell out of me that we have to excerpt their articles.

Excerpting is OK, as long as the link allows us to read the article without registration, as in this case. They do after all have to pay the bills, and they get ad revenue based on the number of hits they get, just as their ad rates for the printed edition depend on their circulation.

I don't think they would like that kind of attention!!

Actually they would. CAIR would sue your ass, and they'd get all kinds of mileage out of the "bigoted American" story.

Unless you actually did kick him off the aircarft and they find "contraband" on his person or in his stuff.
