'Attention whore' Cindy Sheehan quits
WND ^ | May 28, 2007 | WND

Posted on 05/28/2007 4:22:43 PM PDT by driftdiver

Cindy Sheehan, the so-called "Peace Mom" who gained national attention protesting President Bush's Iraq war policy by remaining camped in a ditch near his Crawford, Texas, ranch, has issued a resignation letter as the face of the American anti-war movement.

"Good-bye America," Sheehan writes in her online diary, "you are not the country that I love and I finally realized no matter how much I sacrifice, I can't make you be that country unless you want it."

Sheehan says she came to her "heartbreaking conclusions" this Memorial Day morning, saying, "These are not spur of the moment reflections, but things I have been meditating on for about a year now." I have endured a lot of smear and hatred since Casey was killed and especially since I became the so-called "Face" of the American anti-war movement. Especially since I renounced any tie I have remaining with the Democratic Party, I have been further trashed on such "liberal blogs" as the Democratic Underground. Being called an "attention whore" and being told "good riddance" are some of the more milder rebukes.

Sheehan's son, Casey, was among the American casualties in Iraq, and Mrs. Sheehan, as WND exclusively reported, referred to the terrorists fighting U.S. troops as "freedom fighters."

In today's resignation, lamented that little has been accomplished in her efforts:

I have also reached the conclusion that if I am doing what I am doing because I am an "attention whore" then I really need to be committed. I have invested everything I have into trying to bring peace with justice to a country that wants neither. If an individual wants both, then normally he/she is not willing to do more than walk in a protest march or sit behind his/her computer criticizing others. I have spent every available cent I got from the money a "grateful" country gave me when they killed my son and every penny that I have received in speaking or book fees since then. I have sacrificed a 29 year marriage and have traveled for extended periods of time away from Casey's brother and sisters and my health has suffered and my hospital bills from last summer (when I almost died) are in collection because I have used all my energy trying to stop this country from slaughtering innocent human beings. I have been called every despicable name that small minds can think of and have had my life threatened many times.

The most devastating conclusion that I reached this morning, however, was that Casey did indeed die for nothing. His precious lifeblood drained out in a country far away from his family who loves him, killed by his own country which is beholden to and run by a war machine that even controls what we think. I have tried every since he died to make his sacrifice meaningful. Casey died for a country which cares more about who will be the next American Idol than how many people will be killed in the next few months while Democrats and Republicans play politics with human lives. It is so painful to me to know that I bought into this system for so many years and Casey paid the price for that allegiance. I failed my boy and that hurts the most.

This woman is completely hopeless, and that is a terrible shame. Instead of mocking her we should pray for her.

"You're not the country I love."

I love my country, right or wrong. I don't expect her to be perfect but I will stand beside her and guide her through the night. The greatness of America needs no defense from any true patriot. It speaks, with unbounded faith, for itself.

Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus

Please tell me she’s moving out of our great country and giving up her citizenship.

Right after Alec "My Daughter's a Pig" Baldwin. Hold your breath.

Sounds like she figured out that she has failed her family and especially her son. I suspect that she’s figuring out that it wasn’t because the didn’t try hard enough. It was because they sought to drown her sorrows by getting even deeper involved with a bunch of manipulative, fringe type politicos, who then used her and used her up.

*NEWS FLASH* We never were that country - it just existed in that dark vault of cobwebs and shrieking moonbats between your ears. Now, begone. Leave America to the Americans who are the true custodians of it's welfare.

“you are not the country that I love and I finally realized no matter how much I sacrifice, I can’t make you be that country unless you want it,” sez Cindy. Probably the smartest thing she ever said, and right up there with my own ditzy Mama’s “Life is not always fair, Andrew.”
Old Dad logged with horses when he was young, and he knows, really knows, that you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink. He teamed a bay named Tony and a dappled Diamond that would sometimes stand knee-deep in a frigid, crystal stream with flies buzzing ‘round their ears and sweat almost raining off their bellies, but if they didn’t drink, he didn’t wait too long.

You gotta love a good opus, with factual errors, mis-spellings, and just plain ol’ spite by the bucketful!

I think she really was ashamed that her son was a soldier.

That time she called him a virgin (which is plain creepy for family to even discuss), it showed what a primal aversion she has to testosterone. For grown men to be anything but sheltered little boys is toxic to her being.

Anybody got the graphic with the quotes where she said the U.S. was never worth fighting for?

She needs to be on suicide watch. I doubt she has a clergyman near, but that would be good too. Her method of grieving has brought her to despair.

Saint my @$$! She is indeed an attention whore; however, in keeping with the spirit of that, here's the embed video I took of the Cindy Sheehan treason celebration in the Boston Common, Peaceniks unhinged.

After the nut with the keyiffah swears nastily toward me, Cindy Sheehan speaks and makes her typical moonbat remarks. Also serving as an undercurrent to her remarks is another so-called peacenik threatening to smash my f'n face in.

It's just as Michelle Malkin said. If these so-called peaceniks would put half their energy to supporting our troops instead of intimidating and assaulting their opposition, we would've won the war by now.

Damn straight, we are not the socialist dictatorship of Venezuela. NOW can we question her patriotism?

I assume based on the first quote that she is leaving the country (Alec Baldwin, you listening?).

Hopefully this ends the long disgrace her family has endured and her son can rest in peace as a fallen warrior, not as a political symbol dragged out for press conferences and grandstanding.

I agree, Zack, nothing is as pitiful as a foolish woman.

Hillary Clinton is a foolish woman who thinks she is a man.

Let us pray.
