CARACAS, Venezuela - National Guard troops fired tear gas and rubber bullets Monday into a crowd of protesters angry over a decision by President Hugo Chavez that forced a critical television station off the air.
University students blocked one lane of a major highway hours after Radio Caracas Television ceased broadcasting at midnight and was replaced with a new state-funded channel. Chavez had refused to renew RCTV's broadcast license, accusing it of "subversive" activities and of backing a 2002 coup against him.
Two students were injured by rubber bullets and a third was hit with a tear gas canister, said Ana Teresa Yepez, an administrator at Caracas' Metropolitan University. She said about 20 protesters were treated for inhaling tear gas.

Absolutely. My mom votes straight democrat even though I tell her that they are against 90% of what she believes. She just thinks that some people have “too much money” and “there are too many guns” and that the democrats “care about the little guy”.

My father was sorta like that. Many in his generation never looked at the individual races when they voted — they just pulled one lever — Democrat. To his credit, toward the end of his life, Dad began to realize that the Democrats were not his friend. He started voting more Republican.
Crosby, Pills, Hash & Bong broke up a long time ago, if memory serves correct.

CSNY still reunite from time to time...such as a year or two ago, when they toured to protest the Iraq war. A shame. Young still is a dang good guitar player, but he wastes his talent on the wrong things.
Thanks for posting that pic. Displays in communist countries routinely look like this. I saw many in East Berlin.
I see Xuygo is well on his way to achieving communism in Venezuela.
Maybe the hollyweird idiots can go down there for target practice
lol. he probably is a red sox fan.
"No es bueno!"
American media is silent because they fully support what chavez is doing. They fully support totalitarianism as long as it is on the left.
Those Chavez cartoons are right on target :)
“Prayers for the people of Venezuela as they confront the tyrant.”
The people of Venezuela with the means to leave are gone with their means.
The people who supported Chavez are still poor and still there; now, they are learning the hard truth the hard way. There is some justice to it all but that doesn’t make Chavez’ actions justifiable.
This is a wake-up call to those who thought Marxism was more or less dead. It wasn’t dead, just latent.
Because they hate the American flag and the Republic for which it stands more than they hear the new world's fascists
They elected, with the approval of jimmy carter, the sob.One reaps what one sows.
Jimmy Carter’s approval telle any decent individual all they need to know about anything under the sun in regards if it is good or bad for them.
As with Ted Kennedy, anything that meets Jimmy Carter’s approval is bad for decent people.
