Treasure hunters who recovered a £250 million bounty from a shipwreck off Cornwall may have left the most valuable haul behind.
An American salvage crew has landed 17 tons of loot from the wreck of the Merchant Royal, including 500,000 silver coins, using remote-controlled submarines.
But The Mail on Sunday has learned that the vessel's greatest treasure of gold coins and bullion, at least some of which was held in a locked chest on its lower deck, is still languishing on the ocean floor.

What in the world are you referring to?
John Edwards will make $19 million from this. But David Wright of the Mets will make more than $20 million from the Coca-Cola buyout of Glaceau (VitaminWater), because he took a “small stake” in the company as part of his endorsement deal with them.
250 million pounds divide by 17 tons.

Shouldn't all that be taxed away? After all, we don't want two Americas.
He risked his capital and ventured with a hazardous investment. Isn’t that what we urge on this site? And, isn’t that the precise reward that we tout of the system we ostensibly support? Or, does that philosophy include only a loyal GOP devotee and exclude someone from the other party? Intellectual and actual honesty would seem to demand more than herr Limbaugh’s rant in condemnation of Edward’s risky investment paying off; an investment that generates both revenue and a stream of money into the economy that did not theretofore exist.
Rush’s so called “rant” is focused at the Breck Girl’s hypocrisy. Nothing wrong with suggesting the application of the very rules that John Edwards purports to support!
A truly intellectually honest person is willing to allow a new set of rules first apply to those proposing them. I always thought that it would be nice to poll Hollywood on what sort of rules that they felt the US needed, then try them first on Hollywood. Imagine a Hollywood where the actors had to share, in a socialist manner, their salary with the minor actors, the camera men, the grips, etc. Figure out how much time each individual works, then pay them based on effort and need. And the Hollywood that supports Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” - give them a “carbon footprint” budget that might require them to limit the “chase scenes” to a few hundred feet in golf cart sized cars. With limited budgets for energy use, the big film makers might have to resort to more computers, and lay off many of the people that are currently employed, but obviously if we are serious about curtailing energy use, why not start with them!
Like Limbaugh - I would like to see the wacko left first live under the wacko-left rules to demonstrate if they will work or not.

I never suggested otherwise. I think you are confusing my post with someone else's.
Black Swan was a code name used by Odyssey as a cover for its search for the ship now revealed to be Merchant Royal. As a merchant ship, in international waters, Odyssey has clear salvage rights under Maritime Law.
Spain claims interest in the wreck of the HMS Sussex, an 80 gun third rate ship of the line lost in a gale off Gibralter in 1694. She was carrying a bribe from the King of England to the Duke of Savoy to encourage his alliance his England. Odyssey has located this wreck, and has entered into an agreement with the UK to share in the salvage. Since HMS Sussex was a man of war, not a merchant vessel, the UK retains title.
