Fr. Pfleger has such a pull at this congregation he has nearly become untouchable. He has said if Cardinal George moves him (as is required) he will stay and start his own Church. Fr. Pfleger has done some good things, but he has become more and more of a demagogue.
I am not a Catholic, but IMO the Cardinal should lay down the law. If Pfleger schisms, better an apostate outside the Church than a mutineer within.
Good grief. How did he ever get so powerful? I hope Cardinal George does move him and he carries through on his threat to leave, because like the guy in DC (name forgotten) who left and started his own church, he’ll burn out in no time at all. The one in DC was all the rage, set up his own church - and now he’s gone over to the Moonies, IIRC.
