FARRAKHAN: 'I'm also a Christian' Warm welcome from Pfleger's flock for Muslim minister (BARRRFFF!!)
Chicago Sun-Times ^ | May 26, 2007 | SUSAN HOGAN/ALBACH

A packed house welcomed Minister Louis Farrakhan to St. Sabina Catholic Church on Friday night with a standing ovation and cheers for his health.

The 74-year-old provocative Nation of Islam leader, who has endured a series of health setbacks, didn't speak from the Quran but from the Bible.

"Even though I am a Muslim -- I don't apologize for that -- I'm also a Christian," he told the crowd at 1210 W. 78th Pl. "Islam considers the Bible a sacred book."

"A good Muslim is a Christian, and a good Christian is a Muslim," he added later, stressing the common aspects of the faiths. "Whenever Christ's name is mentioned, I feel at home."

Farrakhan flashed a wide smile as he entered the sanctuary alongside his friend, the Rev. Michael Pfleger, pastor of the church.

A few months ago, Pfleger was at Farrakhan's bedside as he recovered from surgery. Farrakhan promised to speak at the church, as he has done many times before.

"Tonight, we're celebrating a healed man," said Pfleger, who called Farrakhan "one of the most prophetic voices of our times."

Farrakhan only occasionally looked at his notes. As usual, he peppered his talk with humor and frankness on topics such as women, sex and race.

"I feel very honored that the media is struck by my being in a Catholic church with a white pastor," he said. "But in truth, we would not have to talk about color if color were not made something to talk about."

Farrakhan last spoke publically on Mother's Day at his headquarters, Mosque Maryam, 7351 S. Stony Island Ave. He thanked Allah for "giving me life beyond my wrestling with death."

It is beyond contempt the way in which liberals embrace this racist stain on humanity. The more outrageous the fabrication the better it would seem. Make no mistake, Farakan’t has learned the lessons taught by Mahomet quite well. The Koran is an obvious plagiarizing of the Old and New Testaments, revised and extended, of course, to meet the needs of the murderous, illiterate pedophile on the go.

Since Jesus is spoken of numerous times in the Old Testament and the Jews believe the Messiah will come (even if they don't think its Jesus, they will) Christianity is just the new Covenant that replaced the old. Its written in the prophets.

The only place Muslims are referenced is that the sons of Ishmael will be wild men and their hand will be against every man.

If Muslims believe we are all people of the book, they are not in the book. Ever notice how Christians have the Law and the Prophets in the Bible? if they were truly the 3rd installment in a trilogy they would have no problem putting the Koran in with the New and Old Testaments to be read side by side.

The fact is they were pagans whose leader stole from the books of the Bible what he could and forcibly converted many Christians by the sword. My ancestors came partly from Lebanon to escape Christian purges.

Yeah when you’ve converted to Islam because it allows you to hate and kill those you hate in its name, but then go through a series of health problems, I am sure you feel you better try to con your way into Gods good graces.

Good grief. How did he ever get so powerful? I hope Cardinal George does move him and he carries through on his threat to leave, because like the guy in DC (name forgotten) who left and started his own church, he’ll burn out in no time at all. The one in DC was all the rage, set up his own church - and now he’s gone over to the Moonies, IIRC.

“A good Muslim is a Christian, and a good Christian is a Muslim,”

If you want to follow an antichrist, become a muslim. They deny the divinity of Jesus, His Death, and His resurrection. But other than “that” they are the same < /s >

How about Revelations prophecy of a false savior who will lead the flock astray? Sounds like Islam to me. Billions have killed in the warlord’s name.

He said a GOOD Christian is a muslim. Saudis persecute those bad Christians who won’t bow to Mecca 5 times a day.

This is a disgrace.

Reminds me of the priest asking the congregation in this NYC metro bedroom town to pray for the 9/11 terrorists the Sunday after the attack.

I believe it is. The name was changed before the Institute had gotten it, probably because some historians believe that St. Gelasius was black. I don’t remember what the name was changed from, but it could well have been St. Clara.

umm, yeah. And, like C. S. Lewis once said, you are a poached egg, too. We're all poached eggs!

Didn't Jesus pray for the very people who crucified Him? As they were doing it?

Oh, you're saying the priest shouldn't have waited until Sunday...

Christians know that Jesus is the son of God. Muslims know that God had no son. Poorly educated masses will swallow anything from lying muslims.

BTW, Muslims call themselves "people of the book" but that is another case of false advertising. What part of the ten commandments to they follow?

Is Allah the God of Moses? Did God spend thousands of years segregating the jews in order to bring his son into existence only to ignore him 700 years later?

Jesus prayed for the people who were misled by their leaders into thinking that Jesus was a blasphemer and deserved to die. They did not know what they were doing when they called for his death. Moreover, they did not know the truth of the resurrected Christ. I am pretty sure that in the time the 9/11 terrorists lived here, they had ample opportunity to hear the Word. They murdered with deliberate, conscious action:

26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”[e] 31It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Heb 10

There is no way any Muslim can claim harmony with Christ - read some of the things that the Abomination on the Temple Mount has inscribed:

- O People of the Book! Do not exaggerate in your religion
nor utter aught concerning God save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a Messenger of God, and His Word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers, and say not ‘Three’ - Cease!

- Far be it removed from His transcendent majesty that He should have a son.

- Oh God, bless Your Messenger and Your servant Jesus son of Mary. Peace be on him the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the day he shall be raised alive!

- It befitteth not God that He should take unto Himself a son.

- God, Who hath not taken unto Himself a son, and Who hath
no partner in the Sovereignty, nor hath He any protecting friend through dependence.

God forgive me for repeating this blasphemy.

That’s the one! Stallings it is.

I think it reveals something in itself that I couldn’t even remember his name only a few years after he made his grand gesture, picked up his marbles and went off to play with somebody else...

These people always have an inflated idea of themselves. Once they leave the Church, they’re as old and forgotten as yesterday’s newspaper.
