ACLU condemned for 'attacking' veterans memorials during time of war

A constitutional attorney says instead of thanking American veterans for their service, the American Civil Liberties Union is "dishonoring" them by attacking their memorials across the United States.

The American Legion has announced that it is teaming up with the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) and Liberty Legal Institute in a campaign to fight ACLU efforts to remove religious symbols from war memorials. The ACLU has already filed suit to remove crosses at veterans' memorials, like the Mt. Soledad cross in San Diego and the Sunrise Rock cross in the Mojave Desert, which is now covered by a box.

At a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, Liberty Legal attorney Hiram Sasser accused the ACLU of engaging in "a war against honor and valor." He said it is "inconceivable in a time of war such as now that the ACLU and others would be attacking the memorials, the very symbols of honor and sacrifice of our national heritage.

"These symbols and these memorials serve as reminders to all of us of the great sacrifice and courage and valor of our veterans," Sasser observed. The ACLU and its allies "have no respect, decency or shame," he added.

At that same news conference, ADF senior vice president Joe Infranco noted that it has never been unconstitutional for a memorial to have a religious symbol. "The will of the public expressed so clearly by voters and Congress is being attacked by a few individuals whose legal theory is based on a claim that they are offended," he pointed out.

"Let us see this claim for exactly what it is," Infranco continued. "These individuals assert that their being offended should override the public's desire to honor veterans as we have since the founding of our nation," he said.

ADF and Liberty Legal are offering pro-bono representation to any municipality that is sued for displaying a veterans memorial that contains religious symbols. Infranco said his group is on a "search and protect mission" to defend America's veterans memorials from the "misguided fanaticism" of the ACLU.

... "misguided fanaticism" of the ACLU.

That fanaticism isn't misguided. The ACLU (AntiAmerican Communist Liberties Union) is a subversive organization that is joining with too many others to destroy America.

It’s time to take down the Federally funded ACLU. If they want to continue their anti-American absurdity, let them do it on their own money. That’s American enough!

I believe the phrase you're looking for is "Anti-Christian Leftist Union."

And I hate to sound like an a raving anti-semite, but notice how this group started out of fear of Christian influence in the public domain, and how many of its participants have been and are liberal Jews.

Yep. Anyone that brags they are a ‘card carrying member of the ACLU’ is to be avoided, because the goal is the destruction of the United States from ‘within’ using our own Constitution against ourselves to eventually bring it all down.

THE BILL OF NO RIGHTS

We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid any more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior and secure the blessings of debt free liberty to ourselves and our great great-great grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other liberal bedwetters.

We hold these truths to be self-evident: That a whole lot of people were confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim that they require a Bill of Non Rights.

ARTICLE I — You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV or any form of wealth.

More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II — You do not have the right to never be offended.

This country is based on freedom, and that means the freedom for everyone, not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc., but the world is full of idiots and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III — You do not have the right to be free from harm.

If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful. Do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV — You do not have the right to free food and housing.

Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generations of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes.

ARTICLE V — You do not have the right to free health care.

That would be nice but, from the looks of public housing, we’re just not interested in government run health care.

ARTICLE VI — You do not have the right to physically harm other people.

If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim or kill someone, don’t be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII — You do not have the right to the possessions of others.

If you rob, cheat or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don’t be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won’t have the right to a big screen TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII — You don’t have the right to demand that our children risk their lives in foreign wars to soothe your aching conscience.

We hate oppressive governments and won’t lift a finger to stop you from going to fight, if you’d like. However, we do not enjoy parenting the entire world and do not want to spend so much of our time battling each and every little tyrant with a military uniform and a funny hat.

ARTICLE IX — You don’t have the right to a job.

All of us sure want all of you to have one, and will gladly help you in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful.

ARTICLE X — You do not have the right to happiness.

Being an American means that you have the right to pursue happiness — which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

Of course, the ACLU’s primary mission has always been, since its inception as a legal defence organization for Communists, to tear down the good, old US of A.

These crafty devils aren’t idiots. They’re doing the work of the Communist Party and are working overtime to destroy America.

ARTICLE IX - You do not have the right to come into our country illegally, and then expect us to give you health care, driver’s licenses, in-state college tuition, and housing.

The problem is, the Demorats in this country support their goals, and the Republicans that we elected and put in power to put a stop to all this crap have no spine, and have decided that our votes, the ones that put them in power aren't enough, they need to appease those on the left (and their anti-Christian idealism) who will never vote for them anyways.

And yet, facts are facts. Look up the names of the players. Jews are culturally paranoid about the possibility of religious perscution, which is understandable given their unfortunate history. They’ve taken full advantage of US constitutional freedoms, and have been instrumental in inventing some from the bench, in order to suppress public expression of Christianity. Funny, but those who emigrate to Isreal don’t seem to have a problem with a predominant religion in the public arena and expressions of such in the workplace. :)

In Israel the governing maxim would be: Cuius regio eius religo---an Latin phrase that brought peace to the warring factions during the time of the Holy Roman Empire (a misnomer if there ever was one). Where a state imposed religion existed, it followed the orientation of the ruler. It was thus transitory and, from the Peace of Westphila (1648), it co-existed with other religions.

We do not have a state religion. Thus, the analogy to the co-existence that is the norm in Israel of not apt. Coexistence is a matter of permission and a discretional grant from the ruling power. The situation in the U.S. eschews and totally rejects such a matter of grace by government.
