All I know about the guy is that he doesn’t know whether he’s running. Indecisive could get too many people killed in the position he’s running for.

He knows he’s running
We know he’s running
Don’t you know he’s running?

Maybe he’s just working smarter, not harder.

Do not mix up strategy with indecisiveness. There is no way Thompson has not made up his mind.

That’s not fair. He had TV commitments (Law & Order, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee-playing a GOP Prez!-to tend to). His June announcement timeframe makes perfect sense. I know those were all filmed months ago, but with all this equal time nonsense, it could screw things up.

Fred knows he's running. I know he's running. My Burmese cat knows he's running. It's been posted here about a zillion times that he can't announce that he's running until his contractual obligations for television and radio have been resolved. Pay attention much?

Oh, nice alarmist touch with the "get too many people killed" bit. Do they teach that at the Romney meetups?

He isn't indecisive, he knows exactly what he's going to do. He just hasn't told you yet.

No, all you know is that YOU don't know whether he's running. He seems to be laying the groundwork, taking care to fulfill his contractual obligations with the TV show in which he stars, and the movie in which he starred, and which will air in the coming weeks. He apparently takes his obligations very seriously, and it is believed that when those have been fulfilled, he'll hit the ground running. He's already provided some good position pieces in the form of his commentary pieces on ABC radio, and as a sub for Paul Harvey.

It is not too late for him to get into the race. There have been many who have not been excited yet by ANY of the Republican candidates, so there is a lot of money and support still out there for the right person.

Timing is key. We're still 7 months out from the first primary.

I agree but don't say that too loud because Rudy Julie Annie will use it against him when Fred does join the debates.

Also, there are two sides to this coin. Some people like a person who is not rash but is "swift to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath" (James 1:19).

He knows damn well what he’s doing. He’s running, but he’s doing so in a non-conventional (and CHEAP) way. He’ll declare soon.

Not declaring openly is a different animal entirely from not knowing whether you're running. Did you ever consider that there are strategic and tactical reasons why he may not wish to officially declare yet?

The man has filmed shows and a movie that cannot - CANNOT - be aired if he's a presidential candidate, without the same networks giving equal free time to all of the other candidates. That he's giving consideration to those who hired him, and who staked money on the ability to air those programs, says a lot positive about him. Further, he's also getting a lot of free publicity by subbing for Paul Harvey and for speaking on/writing for ABC. He'd be stupid to give that up. Also, he's letting the other Republican candidates hang themselves in their contradictions. Finally, I've heard that he wants to declare after 6/30, so as to start the 3rd quarter fresh (from the standpoint of campaign fundraising) - it'd look bad if he filed a 2Q report showing 1/3 or 1/2 of the fundraising shown by the others.

Again, these are tactical and strategic reasons for not declaring, not any kind of indeceisiveness about his ultimate candidacy.

George W. Bush announced he was running on June 12, 1999. To avoid some FEC reporting deadlines, Fred will announce in late June or early July. Not that big a difference, and definitely not a big deal.

If he officially announced, what would Fred be doing right now? Going around, talking to people, building support. Instead, he's... going around, talking to people, building support. Patience, grasshopper.
