Dear Rolling Thunder and Gathering of Eagles members and participants:
As our way of saying "Thank you" for traveling great distances to be in DC this weekend supporting our military and our great veterans, the DC Chapter invites you to a cookout - our treat.
We will be at our usual Friday night Support Our Troops Freep spot - the main gate at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Avenue, NW, Washington, DC, beginning at 7pm and we stay there until the buses of wounded warriors return from their dinner on the town.
DC Chapter members who are "regulars" at WRAMC are all bringing a cookout to our location. We will have the usual cookout fare: burgers, hot dogs, salads, sodas, chips, and dessert goodies.
Please join us as we salute our brave wounded warriors and their families.
DC Chapter ping!!
Godspeed, and safe travels for everyone coming in...
i hope c-span has it on this year..more of the good guys instead of the bad ones!
Hope to meet you 5/26,you are an inspiration.
Sounds wonderful Tiggles! I have my aunts memorial service this weekend(I am officiating).. will miss you. I figured my uncle would pick this weekend so those coming from a long distance would have the extra time together.
Have a great time & thank you for keeping these threads coming..
For those of you who have never been to the WR freep, please consider taking some time out to attend one. Meeting and supporting the great Wounded Warriors will renew your faith in America and will lift your heart!!! Show your support, you’ll be glad you did!!
I fly in from Texas whenever I can and the folks from the DC Chapter are fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are a little nutty (in a good way) but all are people that are worth meeting. You won’t regret a minute of your time.
To all the DC Chapter folks, A LOUD HOWDY FROM Leofl in Texas, I am trying to come down at the end of june to hang out with y’all once again.
Leo
Big hug to all of you!
bttt
We’re hoping...
Amen!
(Getting ready to head out with Mrs. Trooprally for our Sams Club shopping trip!)
We’ll be thinking of you this weekend, Dolly.
;-)
We’ll miss you, Basil. How’s your puppy doing?
I watch this every year on C-SPAN, and I love it. Wish I could go. Thanks for posting.
I’ve been to the store already and got what I’m brining. See you there!
Listening to Laura Ingraham and the troops calling in this morning. A mother called in to say her son is in the Marines and was at Parris Island on 9/11 and how upset they all are at the biased media coverage.
She said “He is re-enlisting tonight at the Marine Corps Memorial in Arlington, only his father and I will be there, but there won’t be any media present. They only care about the bad news”.
Laura asked “What time is the swearing in?”
“6 p.m.”
“I’ll see you there!”, she answered.
Of course the mother couldn’t believe it. She said she has breast cancer and has been in remission for 2 years, that Laura has been such an inspiration to her.
Laura said “You have been cured; you have to start thinking that way. See you tonight”.
What I wouldn’t give to be able to be there myself! Not to see Laura, but to show this young Marine how much we love our brave, dedicated troops and that we are all praying for him,for his family and for all our wonderful troops.
LOL!! Leofl, when you showed up you fit right in!! :-D
